Autumn Zen Sesshin with Susan Murphy Roshi

Melbourne Zen Group 11th to the 18th of April, 2015.
Autumn Zen Sesshin with Susan Murphy Roshi
Saturday 11 April – Saturday 18 April 2015, Casa Pallotti (near Millgrove, Yarra Valley)
The Melbourne Zen Group Autumn Sesshin offers a rare seven-day traditional Zen retreat in the company of
dedicated and supportive fellow practitioners, in a beautiful setting in the Yarra Ranges. Sesshin is a priceless
opportunity to drop ordinary concerns and settle deeply into the simplicity, depth and joy of this singular life, that
comes more vividly alive and awake when we attend to it closely, breath by breath, with simple, compassionate
awareness. Each day includes extended periods of seated and walking meditation, dokusan (meeting with the teacher
about practice), teisho (dharma talks), and work and rest periods. Susan Murphy Roshi trained with John Tarrant
Roshi and with his Dharma heir Ross Bolleter Roshi, as well as with Robert Aitken Roshi, receiving transmission in
2001 from both teachers. She is founding teacher of Zen Open Circle in Sydney as well as teacher for the Melbourne
Zen Group, author of Upside Down Zen (Hachette Livre Aust., 2004; Wisdom USA 2006) and Minding the Earth,
Mending the World (Picador Aust., 2012; Counterpoint USA 2014).
