INTRODUCING THE UPTONS
Stella and Steven Upton are a dynamic duo that travel internationally teaching
mediumship and healing. They will be making their first visit to CFSC in April 2015 and bringing
programs that will delight the public at large and advance the development of mediums and
healers. It is the goal of the CFSC to bring the highest quality of instructors to enrich our student's
development, and it is an honour to have them come to Calgary.
Stella Upton has been aware of the Spirit world since childhood and was naturally drawn
to Spiritualism. She took her first church service in 1990 and became a tutor at the Arthur Findlay
College in 1999. Since then she has been demonstrating her mediumship on a regular basis,
doing private readings for survival evidence or personal assessment and working with groups of
students throughout the UK and abroad. A more recent development is the painting of
Auragraphs. To see an example of an auragraph, visit her website www.auragraphs.com . While
in Calgary, she will do a weekend mediumship workshop, a workshop on Auragraphs - a form of
Spirit Art - and a workshop on the art of doing private readings. Stella will be available for one-onone readings.
Rev. Steven Upton is a Spiritualist minister who has been involved the Spiritualist
movement since 1971. He started developing his healing mediumship in 1977, attending The
Arthur Findlay College as a student from 1979 and qualifying as a Spiritualist National Union
(SNU) Teacher and College Tutor in 1995. Over the last few years Steven has become a leading
exponent and teacher of trance and trance healing, not only in the UK, but in Canada, Denmark,
Dubai, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden,
Switzerland and the USA. For several years Steven has been sitting for the development of
physical mediumship and has produced a variety of physical phenomena. While in Calgary,
Steven will do two weekend workshops. One will be An Introduction to Trance & Control
Mediumship and the second will be on Trance & Healing Mediumship. Steven will be booking
appointments for private trance healing sessions.

WINTER SOCIAL 2015 – GALA NIGHT AT THE OSCARS
The annual Winter Social is here once more! CFSC will host another Night at the Oscars
on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 6:30 to 10 pm. You are invited once again to drag out your
mink stoles and long cigarette holders, dawn your tux and gowns, or come dressed like Indiana
Jones, Marilyn Monroe or your favorite Hollywood star! La Poodella is raring to go for her annual
visit. There will be prizes for best Hollywood costume, a sing-a-long, messages from Spirit, minireadings, a Talent Show, plus the usual Raffle and 50/50 Draw. There is no cost for this event, but
you can purchase tickets for the raffle or 50/50. Donations of raffle prizes would be appreciated.
Please arrive early to eat and visit with your friends, and don’t forget to bring something yummy
such as a dessert or finger food to share with everyone. To participate in the Talent Show contact

MEDIUMSHIP WORKSHOP WITH VRENY ZUMBUHL
CFSC is delighted that Vreny Zumbuhl will present another one of her energetic workshops
– All-day Mediumship Practice and More..... She offers participants an opportunity to practice
their passion for the art of Mediumship and to fast forward their skill development. Participants will
leave the workshop with techniques that can be used on a daily basis for connecting with Spirit and
add to their own unique style of Mediumship.
Vreny's workshops include a variety of activities that help developing mediums:
• Take part in activities and explore new techniques that enhance their unique style.
• Become aware of the Energy of Spirit and how Spirit connects with them through the
different Clairs.
• Practice stating your intention on how you want to work with Spirit.
• Work with a variety of partners and group activities that will enable the participants to
practice receiving and giving evidence and messages from Spirit.
This all-day workshop will be held on Saturday, February 28 from 10 am to 4 pm. The cost
is $60 for members and $65 for non-members. Spaces are limited so prepayment is required to

CHARITABLE DONATION TAX RECEIPTS
Charitable Donation Tax Receipts will be available soon. If your total annual 2014
donation to CFSC was twenty-five dollars or more you can pick up your receipt at the church, while
those not claimed will be mailed out in March. If you have recently changed your mailing address,
make sure that the church has your new address.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – 2015
The 2015 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held prior to the Sunday Evening
Service at 5:30 pm on Sunday, March 1, 2015. Pizza will be served. If you have any items to put
on the Agenda, please contact Board President, William Pelech, at least two weeks before the AGM.
The meeting will conclude with the election of a new Board. Nominations for the Board can be given
in advance to members Barbara Anderson and Michelle Regel, or they can be made at the AGM.
Marlene Harris asks that memberships be up-to-date for 2015 to ensure voting privileges. Please
plan to attend the AGM and participate in the democratic process of the church either as a full voting
member or as an observer. All are welcome.
