Church cleaning
A new rota for 2015 is available for cleaners. Please collect from the Sacristy. Thank you.
Fair Trade
During Fair Trade fortnight last year we were asked to support banana growers whose
livelihoods were threatened by unfair practices of international supermarkets in their
purchasing of bananas to be sold loose in their shops. Asda and Tesco are currently
negotiating their contracts. It is important that we act quickly and ask them to switch to fair
trade. Please email your local store at fairtrade.org.uk/bananas
Alternatively, you could join us in the hall after Mass to use the computer here.
Lent & Easter Prayer Sheet
Ash Wednesday is only a few weeks away! Would you send in your prayers and reflections
for Lent and Easter by Sunday 8th February. Please include a grace before meals we can all
pray during the Lenten journey and a grace expressing our Easter joy!
Perhaps each parish group would write a prayer together next time they meet.
Continuing CAFOD Campaign to address climate change
Our homes produce almost 25% of the UK’s polluting carbon emissions. Please continue to
pray. This week’s suggestion is to cut down on the amount of energy we use in our homes by
turning off lights in unoccupied rooms and not leaving appliances on standby, insulating the
loft, or giving the house a complete makeover. Besides protecting the environment this
could save us between £45 and £80 a year. Stickers to attach to switches, charges,
thermostats, or any electrical equipment are available if you visit: cafod.org.uk/campaign
Cafod Donations
We have recently received letter of thanks for recent donations to CAFOD totalling £775.99.
Many thanks for all your support.
Lent Fast Day this year is on Friday 27th February. Every £1 donated to CAFOD throughout
Lent will be matched by the UK Government, up to the value of £3.5million, through the UK
Aid Match scheme, so all money raised will have double the impact to beat world poverty.

Thank you
Father Peter and the Parish Pastoral Council would like to thank the parishioners who
gave up their time before Christmas to deliver Christmas Service leaflets to the houses
in their area. This proved to be a successful way of encouraging people to celebrate
with us at Christmastide. We plan to deliver leaflets again prior to Easter: your help
was much appreciated we hope you will support us again.
