Senior Night / Robotics
Congratulations and good luck to the Seniors!
The VEX Robotics Tournament was hosted
on January 25, 2015 in Corpus Christi.
Twelve teams competed in the tournament,
and at the end two teams were chosen as the
winners. The Stacey Robotics team, made up
of five students (Colton Cox, Dallas Hatch,
Hannah Eselgroth,
Jason Burrell, and Terrelle Bowens), stayed in
first place in the qualifications for most of the
tournament and were able to compete in the
semi-finals. Unfortunately, the opposing team
was in the lead by three points and the Stacey
Robotics team was unable to advance to the
finals.
Congratulations to the team for a great
showing!

Spirit Week!
By: Kristina Bartosh, Freshman
The week of Jan. 26-30th is Spirit week at Stacey, which includes preparation for the pep rally,
homecoming games and homecoming dance which takes place on Saturday, Jan. 31st. throughout the
chaotic week, in which everyone is running around finishing up last minute, all of the students from
grades 7th through 12th dressed up each day accordingly. On Monday, students dressed in camouflage
to show we’re military children. On Tuesday, students partnered up with a friend or sibling for twin day.
Way-back-Wednesday consisted of everyone dressing as either a Greaser or a Soc, a reference to S. E.
Hinton’s “The Outsiders”. Thursday students was ‘neon’ day and on Friday everyone will show their
school spirit by wearing red, white, and blue.
The Stacey pep rally is Friday @ 2:40 in the gym, followed by basketball games vs. Brackett. The
homecoming dance will be in the cafeteria on Saturday from 8:00 to 11:00 pm.
Even with the chaos and stress for homecoming, we still have enough time to show school spirit and
have a little fun.
Lackland Elementary is completing its third and
final week of raising money for The Leukemia &
Lymphoma Society through its Pasta for Pennies
drive which is sponsored by Olive Garden. Through
the first two weeks, the school has raised $781.22!
The class that raises the most money will receive
an all you can eat spaghetti lunch from Olive
Garden. Mrs. Torre’s 6th grade class is currently
leading the way with $87.55 raised! Ms.
Archibald’s first graders are not far behind having
raised $85.49!
