It all began with a love of sweets. Every time
they went to the movies, Jacques and France
Gauthier would stop by the Cochon Dingue
in the Champlain neighbourhood. Jacques, a
gourmet desert enthusiast, had a sweet spot
for the boss’ carrot cake. He liked it so much
that he purchased the restaurant with his
wife in 1979. They dreamed of entertaining
friends in the Paris bistro atmosphere that
they love so much.
It was the beginning of a great adventure
that has lasted 35 years and has witnessed
the birth of the Groupe Restos Plaisirs.
Passionate, curious and always on the lookout
for emerging trends, the Gauthiers have
made the Cochon Dingue the flagship venue
of a genuinely enjoyable group. The Cochon
Dingue is a divinely guilty pleasure!
