The 81st Annual Huntington Saint Patrick’s Parade

This year the Huntington AOH is proud to announce that our Division Chaplin, Fr. Stephen Donnelly,
will lead the 81st Huntington St. Patrick’s Day Parade as our Grand Marshal. Father Stephen is an
integral part of our community extending well beyond his local parish St. Patrick’s. Come Parade
day, it will be easy to spot Father Stephen, the gentle giant leading his “flock” down Main Street.
Many people don’t realize the expense to run such a major event, including band sponsorship fees, insurance, and advertising. Some mistakenly believe the Town runs and pays for the parade; they do
not. The Huntington Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) has organized and paid for all the costs of
this wonderful parade since 1930 (there were no parades during WWII).
The AOH raises the funds through a special St. Patrick’s Day Long Islander/Record journal insert
which is published on March 5, 2015. The Long Islander/Record special pull out insert contains past
parade info, a history of the Parade, and photos, along with advertisements paid for by our generous
sponsors. We are hoping you might consider taking out an ad in this special journal insert to help us
out. Ad costs can run as low as $65 for a small ad, to $1,000 for a full page. Any contribution would
be greatly appreciated.
