Rocky Ozaki
From 1st interview, to your first day of
work, Matt and Steph Corker will share
the secrets to hiring during one of the
busiest years around the world at
lululemon athletica. What did it take to
scale our people strategy to achieve
business goals? How did we break the
rules to make it work? Why working
together made it worthwhile?
After assisting the launch of
hundreds of workplace intranets
Jessica Hollander has learned a few
things about what it takes to make
them successful. The right team, the
right marketing and a bit of
planning makes a huge difference.
Through an interactive discussion
we’ll walk through some best
practices and how they might apply
to your organizations.

Rethinking Human Resources:
Get Out Of The Past With
These Tools
Christian De Pape
Wisam Abdulla
“If that’s how they treat me when I
apply for a job, how would they treat
me as an employee?” In this session,
we’ll look at a few technology-driven
first steps you can take to create a
better recruitment process experience
for the people you want to hire.
Wisam will be examining the history
behind three key areas of human
resources: productivity & efficiency,
performance management, and
compensation & recognition. He will
break down the reasons why outdated
practices in these areas no longer work
and give you hands on examples of
how you can use cloud-based tools to
build practices that do work. You'll
come away from the session with ideas
on how to structure your HR
department, drive business growth and
engage employees by streamlining
processes using technology.
In this session, Rocky will explore how
Technology can disrupt the way
companies complement their current
Employee Engagement (EE) and
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
initiatives. Anchored on the
assumption that the spirit of charity is
innate, he will debate why more
organizations should integrate online
charitable giving (corporate and
individual) into their CSR and EE
strategies. The end result? An
improved employee value proposition
and a focused & quantifiable CSR
story!

Monitoring of Off-Duty
Social Media Use
James Kondopulos
James D. Kondopulos and David S.
Louie of Vancouver-based
employment and labour law
boutique, Roper Greyell LLP, will
explore the topic of employer
monitoring of off-duty social media
use and the balance which the law
attempts to strike between the
employer right to manage the
workplace and the employee right to
privacy. The sources of privacy rights
will be reviewed, including the
applicable legislation and the
common law. Recent case law will
also be reviewed to highlight
considerations around off-duty social
media use and the associated risks for
employers and employees. James and
David will provide practical pointers
for employers with respect to offduty social media and electronic
device policies.
