The Meriton is aspirational and is passionate about students and their children reaching their potential and succeeding in an
increasingly challenging environment both in terms of of funding, a changing curriculum and qualifications but also in the wider
society. The teenage pregnancy rate has decreased amongst pre 16 students but with RPA there is a continued need for specialist
support and a flexible way of working to ensure young parents can continue in their education whilst confident their children are
getting excellent childcare provision.
Students have often had a difficult experience of education and value a more personal and nurturing environment whilst still being
expected to achieve as well as possible.
The successful candidate will be leading an experienced and much respected staff who hold the well being of students and their

The Meriton is currently working with Bristol City Council and partners on plans to amalgamate the setting with Bristol Hospital
Education Service, to form a single Pupil Referral Unit and management committee. This merged PRU will be led by the current
headteacher of Bristol Hospital Education Service, to whom the Assistant Head of The Meriton will report. The Assistant Head will
be responsible for the day to day running of The Meriton and will work with colleagues across the merged PRU.

Estates Development and Site Safety Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estates Development and Site Safety Manager to join our Notton House
Team.
To work in conjunction with the Head Teacher and Bursar, who are responsible to the Governing Body. The Estates Development
and Site Safety Manager is responsible for the continual development and best use of the school site and its facilities for the
support of learning and work experience opportunities.
In working and liaising with colleagues across the School they will plan and co-ordinate developmental work which enhances the
site and provides outstanding learning opportunities. This post holder will establish a long term vision and plan in regard to how
the School can maximise its grounds and facilities through a manageable budget. Further to this, the role will establish and ensure
that all Health and Safety policies and procedures are in place and followed in line with Bristol City Council, COHSS and DFES
regulations.
The appointed person will respond to and manage ongoing repair and maintenance work within a given budget, either in house or
using approved external contractors.
