CIVIL SERVICE VACANCIES FOR THE WEEK OF February 9, 2015
Civil service vacancies are advertised for one week. Applications and all qualifying credentials such as
official transcripts, certifications, licenses and DD 214 must be submitted in person for the current vacancies
no later than 12:00 noon, Thursday, February 12, 2015.
There is a continuing need for applicants in the Office Manager, Accountant I, and Police Officer
classifications.
Customer Service Specialist
Salary: $2554.00 per month
Department: Financial Aid Office
1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. Any combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following categories:
a) Responsible work experience in customer services, public relations, office administration, business and
financial operations, healthcare administration or other closely related experience
OR
b) College coursework as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
• 30 semester hours equals 1 year (12 months)
• 60 semester hours equals 2 years (24 months)
• 90 semester hours equals 3 years (36 months)
• 120 semester hours equals 4 years (48 months)
3. One (1) year (12 months) of work experience comparable to that gained as a Customer Service Representative
Applications Programmer III
Salary: $3357.00 per month
Department: Financial Aid Office
1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. a) Bachelor’s degree with a major in computer science, information systems, or data processing or a major in a
closely related field that included 30 semester hours of credit in computer-related courses
OR
b) Four years of experience in computer programming, analysis, or applications software systems
development/design that included one year of applications software systems development/design
OR
c) Any combination of education and experience that totals four years and included one year of experience and/or
training in applications software systems development/design*
*Credit for course work in applications software systems development/design or closely related subjects shall be
evaluated on the basis of one semester hour of credit being equal to one month of experience.
Stores Supervisor
Salary: $3062.00 per month
Department: Information Technology
1. High school graduation or equivalent.
2. Three (3) years (36 months) of work experience comparable to that performed at the Storekeeper III level of this
series or in other positions of comparable responsibility.
3. Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience in a supervisory capacity.
Natural Science Laboratory Assistant II*
Salary: $13.17 per hour
Department: School of Medicine
*Note: This position has the following Specialty Factor: Experience handling cadavers and human tissue.
This position is security-sensitive. Before any offer of employment is made, the University will conduct
a pre-employment background investigation, which includes a criminal background check.
The department prefers candidates with a current Funeral Director’s License.
1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. Two years of experience in natural science (such as biology, veterinary medicine, chemistry, physiology, or microbiology laboratory techniques). University education with major in natural sciences may be substituted, year for
year, up to a maximum of two years.

discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
