INFORMATION
Please read before registering for any class.
Unless you are notified otherwise, you may assume you
are in the course for which you registered.
No school credit is given for any course.
Whenever a particular school is closed during the day,
whether for planned vacations, inclement weather,
or for other emergency reasons, classes scheduled
for that school will not meet that night. All cancelled
classes will be made up.
Parking is prohibited in fire lanes. Please respect
parking regulations and handicapped parking spaces.

DO NOT SEND CASH! A separate check must be
issued for each course. Please indicate course title on each
check. All registration for classes must be mailed to the
above address. Registration for classes cannot be made by
telephone.
If you register after classes begin, you will be assessed a
late charge of $5. Refunds will be issued automatically for
all classes cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.
If you decide to withdraw from a class after registration
closes, but before a class begins, you will receive a refund
less a $5 service charge. No refunds will be given for oneor two-night courses after registration closes, unless the
course is cancelled. You will not receive a refund after the
second class of any course.
Your continuing education program is a self-sustaining
program with all expenses paid out of registration fees.
No refunds, therefore may be given after classes have
started.

Our painting classes are for all skill levels, including beginners! Complete a painting in one or two classes. All
decorative painting classes use acrylic paints on glass, wood or canvas. Class minimums 4-maximum 10. Instructor:

WINE GLASS PAINTING – FLOWERS OR GRAPES

Skill Level: Beginner/Intro
This class is for all students, including beginners. Paint Wine
Glasses with grapes or flowers using glass paint. Glass is fun
to paint because if you make a mistake, you can just wipe it
clean and try again! Supply fee: $6-includes 2 wine glasses,
paints used during class & loaner brushes, etc. Please contact
Lynn if you would like additional wine glasses-2 days prior
to class. everything needed-just come dressed to paint. The
supply list will be available at Lynn’s Open House on 2/9.
We will paint a seaport scene on a wood plaque and antique
the surface. Supply fee: $10 – includes a wood plaque, pattern
& transfer paper (available at 1st class). The supply list will be
available at Lynn’s Open House on 2/9.

SILK SCREEN STENCIL PAINTING ON GLASS

New – Paint on a glass vase using silk screen stencils! The vase

Practice and paint Hydrangeas on a Canvas Tote … makes a
great one of a kind gift or keep it for yourself! Supply Fee: $6 –
includes a canvas tote, t-pins, foam core & wax paper. Canvas

DECORATIVE PAINTING –
EIFFEL TOWER/MIXED MEDIA PAINTING

Decoupage, paint and add texture to paint an Eiffel Tower/
Paris Painting on a wrapped canvas. This is a fun project that
I’ve been collecting items included the supply fee to add to
your one of a kind painting! Supply Fee: $10 – includes a
wrapped canvas, decoupage paste, foam brush and misc items
to add to your painting. Items will be available the 1st night of
class. Pick up the supply list at the Open House on Monday,
February 9th.

Skill Level: INTERMEDIATE
Practice four Spring Flowers – One Stroke Painting!
Hyacinths, Lily of the Valley, Violets and Daffodils. On April
27th we will continue practicing the flowers and optional,
paint them on surface(s) of your choice. Example: four small
canvases with one flower on each or paint a grouping of
flowers on one larger canvas or wood plaque. Supply Fee:
NONE. Pick up the supply list at the Open House on Monday,
February 9th.

This class is for beginners or for those that would like a
refresher. This class will cover how to chain, single crochet and
more. Supply Fee: $5 – includes crochet supplies, yarns & a
hook.

CROCHET CLUB CLASSES

Length: 3 nights – 3/5, 4/2 & 5/7 (6:30-8:30PM)
The crochet club will meet on the first Thursdays of March,
April and May. There will be a project of the month or you
may opt to continue learning and practice stitches - or work
on a project of your choice. Stop at Lynn’s Open House on
2/9 if you have questions. Supplies for each class: Metal Size
I or J crochet hook; scissors; pencil/paper; and a ruler. Class
minimum 4 – max 8
Pre-req.: Ability to chain, single and double crochet.
March 5 – Scarf: This is a fast and easy project.
Supply Fee: $8 for yarn.
April 2 – Dish Clothes: We will start two dish clothes using
new stitches. Supply Fee: $5 for cotton yarn.
May 7 – Shawl: Always remember it is easier to crochet
with light color yarns (recommended yarn is Red Heart Soft).
Supply Fee: None – bring yarn of your choice-4 ply and
approximately 3 to 4 skeins (depending on size
of the skein).

JEWELRY MAKING – SCROLL WIRE NECKLACE

Length: 1 night – February 23 (7:00-9:00PM)
This necklace is made out of wire and chain. It will be shaped
with jewelry making tools. The scroll design will be flattened
and stabilized by using a chasing hammer and bench block.
Beads will be wired to the middle to make an elegant focal
piece for the necklace. It will be finished off with chain. For

STRAP CRISS-CROSS BRACELET

Embellish a strap of leather with rhinestone chain down the
center and string leather crossing in-between each rhinestone.
The strap is black. The rhinestones are gold or silver. The string

These rosettes can be used for many jewelry designs, but we
always make a pair of earrings during this session. We’ll make

NECKLACE (2 PART)

This is a thread and needle technique called bead weaving. This
is an open tube that has a twisted netted design (like DNA). It’s
absolutely gorgeous! This is slightly challenging but you can do

colors.

Getting Paid to Talk, Making Money with Your Voice is a single
evening class that takes a realistic and entertaining look at
the positive and negative components of building success as
a voice actor in your area. Our instructor will discuss both the
creative and business aspects of our field. In addition to having
the opportunity to hear voice acting demos from working
professionals, each student will have the opportunity to record
a real script under the direction of our producer right there in
class. Each student’s recording is then played back at the end of
the session as a class finale. Throughout the class students are
encouraged to ask questions and our instructor is always will to
provide basic voice assessment to anyone attending.

over. The impacts of aging on driving are highlighted. A 10%

upon completion. A New York State driving license is required,

Pronounced “Ray-Key” Reiki is a Japanese word meaning
universal life energy, a natural approach to wellness. Reiki is
a non-intrusive method of hands on healing to improve the
health and quality of life for yourself and others. It activates the
release of blocked energy, which restores and balances the body
and mind. Now used widely in many hospitals. The evening
will provide information and background on Reiki, and the
opportunity to experience the Reiki energy. Suzanne Amsler,
a Reiki Teacher Master, has been teaching for over 9 years and
has been involved with Reiki for 13 years.

Regarding Registration...
• Early registration is advised since
classes fill up quickly. All registration is processed on a first come, first
serve basis.
• Confirmations can not be given over
the phone. If the minimum enrollment for a class is not met, you will
receive a refund in the mail.
• No refunds will be given after the
first class of each session.
Regarding Pool Closings...
• The pool will be closed when a
lifeguard is unavailable or if there is
adverse weather. All cancellations
will be listed both on the Mohonasen School Website as well as on the
office voicemail 356-8240.
• If the pool is closed due to adverse

for the classes missed.
• The pool will be closed on holidays
and most school vacations.

Mohonasen Marlins Swim Club This competitive club is open to students in
grades K-12 from any school district. Swimmers are given instruction in: all four
competitive strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breastroke and Freestyle), on racing dives,
turns and rules of competitive swimming. Swimmers will compete in 5-8 dual meets
with other local swim clubs in which participants will receive awards.
Minimum skills required to participate in swim club are:
1. Be able to swim 25 yards freestyle 2. Be able to swim 25 yards backstroke
3. Be deep water safe.

AQUA FITNESS CLASSES
“Aqua Fitness” is a term used to
describe exercise done in a vertical
position that uses the waters resistance
and buoyancy to strengthen and condition
the body.
Water Aerobics: Utilize the natural
resistance provided by the water to
challenge and exercise all major muscles
groups in one class and get a great
aerobic workout at the same time. A
great class for adults or teens looking
to maintain their fitness program. Add
Fridays and come workout 3-days a week
for an additional $6.00 per class.

Deep Water Workout
This class is a high-powered deep-water
workout, suitable for all ages. Designed
to challenge both the cardiovascular and
muscular systems. The workouts include
lap swimming, water walking, jogging
and invigorating non-impact deep-water
exercises. Basic swimming skills are
needed. Swim goggles are recommended.
All pool equipment is provided. Class is in
the deep end of the pool.

This recreational program gives everyone
in the family an opportunity to swim
together. An adult must accompany any
child under the age of 12. Minimum age
to participate is 3 years old. Swimmers
will be issued an annual pass which must
be presented upon entry to the pool area.
The pass will be valid for 1-year from the
date of purchase.

SWIMMING
This class is designed for children 2-4 years old. An instructor
leads the class in games and songs which teach children
various skills, that are needed to become water adjusted.
Games and songs are designed to help get the children excited
about the water, and make tasks such as blowing bubbles or
getting their face wet less scary.

This class utilizes volunteers to work
with students with special needs

The objective of level 3 is to build
on the skills in level 2 by providing
guided practice in coordinating front

plus additional skills.

Students increase their endurance
by swimming familiar strokes (front

way to manage them. Each week following we will introduce a
new stimulus in a way that allows your dog to build confidence
and self control in the face of fear. This is a very hands on
class with a lot of one on one help for you and your dog. It is

Have you ever wanted to try oil painting? Are you afraid you
can’t paint because you can’t draw? WELCOME to “Paint with
Peggy”! In each class you will create an oil painting. Peggy
is a certified Alexander Art Instructor and Wilson Bickford
Painting Partner. Each evening the student creates a complete
oil painting. These classes do not require drawing skills, and
they are also NOT paint-by-number. At the beginning of
class every student is provided with a blank canvas, brushes,
palette of paints, etc. Then, through classroom instruction,
each person creates their own, unique oil painting. Any level

February 10th: Winter Birches - This is a bright winter scene
painted on a toned (colored) canvas. You will create distant
trees, and nearby birches. It is fun to do – the snow shadows

the empty Adirondack chair that you’ll want to sit in to watch

requirements for Personal Watercraft (PWC) Operation and
Youth and Adult Boating Certification. Upon successful
completion, participants will receive a boating certificate that
is good for life and can be used to operate a PWC (e.g., Jetski)
or as a youth boater able to operate a vessel independently.
(To operate a PWC independently, a person must be at least
14 years old and have their boating certificate on board.) This
course teaches the fundamentals of safe boating operation,
including accidents and emergencies; boating related activities;
boats and motors; equipment; fueling and ventilation; marine
environment; numbering and registration; personal watercraft;
and rules of the road. The course is for adults and children 10
