1. GENERAL INFORMATION APELDOORN
Welcome to Apeldoorn: Apeldoorn is located in the middle of National Park the Veluwe;
one of the most beautiful National Parks in The Netherlands. Apeldoorn has 155.000
citizens and belongs to the top ten cities of The Netherlands. But Apeldoorn is different,
not many cities have so much space or such a relaxed atmosphere. The woody
environment gives the city its own image. When you go through the streets, nature will
surround you. Beautiful gardens and city parks brighten up both the city centre and the
neighbourhoods with green colours. The historical buildings are giving Apeldoorn even
more appeal.
Apeldoorn has a lot of things that are worth a visit. For example Apenheul, it’s the only
zoo in the world where 30 different kind of monkeys live freely in the forest. Or visit the
museum Paleis Het Loo, the former summer residency of the Dutch Royal family. It
makes you feel royal even walking through it. Third on the list is a visit to Julianatoren, a
great leisure park suited for young and old. Apeldoorn has it all, a modern city centre
with some pleasant shops and dining options, culture treasure’s and beautiful nature.

Omnisport Apeldoorn
Omnisport Apeldoorn is a modern location for sport and business events. Omnisport has
an A-status and is the only velodrome of the Netherlands were European or World
Championships (Para) Track cycling and athletics can be held. Besides its usefulness for
cycling or athletics, Omnisport has plenty of space to transform into a concert or
congress location or even a tenniscourt. Omnisport almost offers 6.500 m2 of space.

Accreditation fees are handled by the Organizing Committee. Please do not pay the
accreditation fees in advance, but wait until you receive the invoice through the OC.
Please make sure the invoice number will be stated in the payment details. All payments
must be received by the organisation by 23 March in order to avoid paying in cash.
Teams will not be able to enter the competition if the accreditation fees have not been
paid by the first day of competition. Rider numbers will not be distributed until
accreditation fees are paid. Invoices can be paid in advance or on site by credit card.
Please note, payments on site can only be done on 23 March and 24 March from 9h00 till
16h00 at the Accreditation Centre.

The UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships will be held in Omnisport, Apeldoorn.
Especially for you a selection has been made of hotels in Apeldoorn. There are two
Official hotels: Van der Valk Apeldoorn De Cantharel and Bilderberg Hotel De
Keizerskroon. Our Preferred hotels are Bilderberg ‘t Speulderbos and Bastion Hotel
Apeldoorn Het Loo.

Van der Valk Hotel Apeldoorn De Cantharel**** (Official Hotel)
Van der Valk Hotel Apeldoorn - de Cantharel is situated in green surroundings, close to
National Park De Hoge Veluwe, near Apeldoorn’s city centre and only a 15 minute drive
to Omnisport. Comfort and luxury are paramount in stylish hotel rooms of Van der Valk

Bilderberg Hotel De Keizerskroon**** (Official and Classification Hotel)
Bilderberg Hotel De Keizerskroon Apeldoorn: green, stately and close to National Park De
Hoge Veluwe. The Keizerskroon hotel is located next to the Paleis het Loo, which until the
1960s was owned by Queen Wilhemina and only a 10 minute drive to Omnisport. The
comfortable and luxurious hotel rooms meet the highest requirements for the athletes.
High quality service, genuine hospitality and providing the ideal environment for an
athlete for proper preparation. The restaurant offers food with fresh products and there is
free on-site parking. Sauna, solarium, Turkish steam bath and heated indoor swimming
pool are the places to be too. Classification takes places in Bilderberg Hotel De
Keizerskroon*.
Bilderberg ‘t Speulderbos**** (Preferred Hotel)
In the heart of the Netherlands in the middle of the forest and on the outskirts of
National Park De Hoge Veluwe you find Bilderberg ‘t Speulderbos. A 25 minute drive from
Omnisport, free transport to and from the hotel is included. In these green surroundings
you feel right at home. All the luxurious rooms have recently been renovated and come
equipped with all the necessary comforts athletes need. Enjoy your meal in the stylish

restaurant or in the ambient lounge. Relax in a rejuvenating sauna or take a refreshing
dive into the heated indoor swimming pool. Free on-site parking.
Bastion Hotel Apeldoorn Het Loo**** (Preferred Hotel)
Bastion Hotel Apeldoorn het Loo stands for a personal atmosphere, hospitality, comfort
and good facilities. Bastion Hotel Apeldoorn het Loo is located close to Palace Het Loo,
with a view on the nice gardens and only a 10 minute drive from Omnisport. The deluxe
rooms are comfortable. There offers wellness facilities, there is also a modern restaurant

Transport
The nearest International Airport: Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam. Approximately 1 hour
and 15 minute drive or travel by train from the airport to Apeldoorn.
Together with our travel partner we offer airport transfer. You can reserve a pick up and
drop off (round trip) from the airport. There are three options to choose from:
15 passenger bus € 795,30 passenger bus € 995,49 passenger bus € 1250,An optional trailer may be booked for bike luggage (round trip). 1 trailer € 600,-. Note: It
is only possible to reserve the trailer when you book the 49 passenger bus. The size of
the trailer: Height 3.80m x Length 5m x Width 2.5m.

Visa
Is your team participating at the Para-cycling Track World Championships in Apeldoorn
and need a Visa? Your National Cycling Federation should contact the organisation,
requesting an invitation letter for each participant. Please provide the name, date of birth
and title of each person (rider, staff) in order to provide the proper letters
After the request is received, the application will be processed. The organisation will send
the individual invitation letters for each rider back to the National Cycling Federation.
Riders and staff can take this letter to apply for the visa at the Dutch embassy.
When you apply for your Visa at the Dutch embassy in your country you need to bring
your invitation letter from the organisation, that states you are a participant during the
UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships Apeldoorn 2015.
