In honor of Black History Month, welcome to the Kelley Theatre Production of
“Her
Stories: African American Folktales, Fairy Tales, and True
Tales” based on the book by Virginia Hamilton.
A striking collection of African and Caribbean Folk Tales, each featuring an African American
woman or girl as the main character. True stories, ghost stories, folk legends, classic fairy
tales, tall tales and more indicate the breadth of African American cultural traditions. (Richard

the money and pass out the tickets.

The award-winning Stuttgart Theatre Center has been entertaining audiences for more than
30 years and provides a valuable link in German/American relations and friendship with the
participation and involvement of German and other European nationals. (For more information,

Non-ID Card Holders, in order to be put on the Kelley Front Gate Access Roster, provide
the following: (1) Full name, (2) Passport or Ausweis Number, (3) Nationality, and (4)
date of birth – Note: all personal information will only be shared with the appropriate
officials.
Dinner is at the Wirtshaus Garbe in Plieningen, Filderhauptstr 136, 70599 Stuttgart, starting
at 17:30. They are offering us a limited menu of soup, salad, meat and veggie dishes.
Because the club must pay up-front, reservations must be received no later than Thursday,
12 February. After this date, anyone who cancels or doesn’t show, will be responsible
for the full cost of the ticket(s) purchased by the club. Make your reservations with:

From A8 take B27 in the direction of Möhringen/SI-Centrum. From B27, take the exit toward SPlieningen/S-Möhringen/S-Hohenheim/S-Birkach/S-Asemwald. Keep right at the fork, following the
signs for the SI-Centrum, then veer into the left lane and turn left at the second traffic light onto
Plieninger Straße – L1205 (the intersection where Daimler and the Pressehaus are). Drive
approximately ½ mi/0.8km and turn left at the Kelley Barracks sign.
At the Kelley Front Gate: Show your ID/Ausweis* and proceed to the stop sign. At the stop sign, turn
right onto Ash Street and park in either the first or second parking lot on your right. The theatre is in
Bldg 3320. Entry to the Box Office/ Lobby is from Oak Street – see blue star in map below. Please
do NOT enter through the Broadway Café.
*Non-ID Card Holders: If there is a problem and they pull you over, one of us will be available to sign

Directions to the Wirtshaus Garbe: Turn left out of the Kelley Front Gate and take Plieninger Str
straight into Plieningen. The Garbe is at the first traffic circle. Due to construction on Garbenstr, you
must go the long way around to get to the parking lot. Therefore at the traffic light/bus stop one block
before the restaurant follow the Umleitung sign in the direction of S-Asemwald, S-Birkach, GENOAkademie (Adornostr). Take the second right onto Fruwirtstr. At the light bear to the right – do not turn
into the University – you should now be on Heinrich-Pabst Str. Stay right and drive past the barricade
onto Garbenstr. The parking lot is on the left side after the school buildings and the street called
August-von-Hartmann-Str. The Garbe is just a little further down the street. Here is a map showing
