McGinty Award
Given to the Adult Amateur SCDCTA member with the highest total number of points earned in any USEA
recognized horse trials division except Tadpole, in honor of “McGinty,” who took his amateur rider from Novice to
Intermediate in a few years, earning the 2001 USCTA (now USEA) National Reserve Champion Preliminary Horse
Award and the 2001 Area 3 Champion Preliminary Horse Award. At the Intermediate level, McGinty won at Pine
Top Horse Trials and ranked his rider, Karen Haeusler, as a Top 10 Amateur rider in 2002.
