Sacrament of Baptism. The Sacrament of Baptism should be
celebrated as soon as possible after birth. Therefore parents
should contact the parish office prior to the child’s birth. This
will allow adequate time for the necessary preparation of the
parents and the Godparents.

Sacrament of Marriage. Requires at least nine months of
preparation before the Marriage. Contact the Pastor, through
the parish office, to start the process.
Pastoral Care: please contact the parish office if you are aware
a parishioner is sick and desires to receive the Eucharist,
Anointing of the Sick or a visit from the Pastor.
Parish Registration forms are available through the office.
Sacramento del Bautismo. El Sacramento del Bautismo debe
ser celebrado tan pronto como sea posible después del
nacimiento del niño. Los padres deben de ponerse en contacto

is to ensure the smooth functioning of the parish

in both English and Spanish. The ability to respect
confidentiality is required. The candidate must have
knowledge of the teachings and practices of the

CAMINO PILGRIMAGE PRESENTATION
On Wednesday, February 11 at 7:15 pm in the Social Hall at
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 314 Turner Road, Salem.
Bill and Sue Thompson will share their experiences walking
the Camino de Santiago across northern Spain. They will
answer questions and share their remarkable 600-mile journey
with anyone with a desire to learn about this 1200-year-old
spiritual tradition. Come early and attend 6:30 pm Mass; talk
will begin directly after Mass.
ST. MARON'S LEBANESE DINNER
Join St. Elias Maronite Church for their annual St. Maron's
Lebanese dinner at 4730 Cove Road, Roanoke, on Saturday,

VIRTUS TRAINING: A current session listing and
registration instructions for the VIRTUS “Protecting
God’s Children for Adults” program for the Richmond
Diocese is available at www.richmonddiocese.org. All
volunteers & catechists are required (parents are
encouraged) to attend a training session. There is
no charge for this training. For more information,
please call the office. Next training session is THIS
Thursday, February 12 at Our Lady of Nazareth
(Roanoke) 2505 Electric Road at 6:30 pm. Session
lasts 3 hours.
CHRISTIAN FORMATION. We are in Ordinary Time. It
is a privileged moment to reflect on the mysteries of the
life of Christ, especially for those preparing to receive
sacraments this year. Families remember that the
children must know the Our Father, Hail Mary and
Glory Be by heart; continue praying the Rosary as
a way to learn these prayers and for those
preparing for sacraments, also to ask for God’s
help during these preparation months.
FORMACION CRISTIANA. Estamos en el Tiempo
Ordinario. Es un momento de gracia para reflexionar
sobre los misterios de la vida de Cristo, especialmente
para aquellos preparándose a recibir sacramentos.
Familias recuerden que los niños/jóvenes se deben
saber de memoria las oraciones del Padre Nuestro,
el Ave María y el Gloria; continúen rezando el
Rosario como una forma de aprender estas
oraciones y aquellos que están en preparación
sacramental, también pedir la ayuda de Dios
durante estos meses de preparación.

domingo, de las familias que ya se
hayan inscrito y tomado la plática.
Las familias interesadas deben asistir a misa todos los
domingos, estar ya inscritas en la parroquia y deben
haber tenido llenada la forma de inscripción al bautismo
por uno de los ministros. NO deben traer los niños a la
plática, para así todos poderse concentrar.

than seven). After the acceptance into the
catechumenate, the person who wants to receive the
sacraments of initiation, through a supportive and
encouraging environment in the parish, continues their
catechesis, the teaching of the faith, and prayer
formation, a time to “catch” values and beliefs from the
community. It is also a time to learn what the apostolic
