~Next Generation Telehealth in a World of Accountable Care~
The Mid-Atlantic Telehealth Resource Center (MATRC) invites you to submit an
abstract on a topic related to innovations in telehealth for poster presentations at
the MATRC 2015 Annual Telehealth Summit. Of particular interest are innovative
clinical models of care; telehealth-enabled educational programs for patients,
practitioners, and students; and outcomes and/or policy impacts from original
research. This call is open to clinicians, faculty, and students from all disciplines.
ABSTRACT CATEGORIES
Innovations in Clinical Telehealth – Models, practices, processes and tools that:
 Increase access to quality care for rural and/or underserved
populations
 Improve the management of chronic diseases
 Improve clinical outcomes and/or increase patient engagement
 Integrate telehealth into every day clinical practice
Innovations in Telehealth Education - Models, practices, processes and tools
that:
 Provide patient education or support
 Provide clinician continuing education or support
 Advance knowledge, skills, or abilities to use telehealth technologies
Original Research Contributing to Telehealth Practice and/or Policy
 Outcomes research contributing to the evidence base for telehealth
practice.
 Research findings with direct impacts and/or implications for
telehealth policy.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Abstract
Each abstract must be 500 words or less and should include the following:
 Poster Title
 Name, Title, Organizational Affiliation, and City, State (for all authors)
 Poster Category (select one of the three below)
1. Innovations in Clinical Telehealth
2. Innovations in Telehealth Education
3. Original Research Contributing to Telehealth Practice and/or Policy
 Introductory paragraph stating the background or purpose of the proposed
poster
 Body paragraph providing an overview of the activity or study (if a research
study, include information about research methodology).
 Concluding paragraph highlighting the poster’s main teaching points and/or
results and conclusions of the study
The abstract should be composed in a Word document or using Rich Text Format.
Do NOT convert the abstract to a PDF before submission. We welcome the
submission of abstracts for posters presented previously at other venues.
Biosketch
Submit a brief biosketch (no more than 75 words) for the lead presenter along
with the abstract. Include at the top of the biosketch the lead presenter’s full
name, email address, and phone number.
Submission Method/Deadline
Abstracts and biosketches must be submitted by email to Anita Browning at
[email protected] on/before 5:00 PM EST Monday, December 1,
2014. Late submissions will not be reviewed.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Submissions that adhere to the above guidelines will be reviewed and scored by
the MATRC Poster Abstract Review Panel. Final selections will be based on: 1)
relevance for advancing telehealth practice and/or policy; 2) the innovative
nature of the practice or study; and 3) the quality and clarity of the abstract.
Abstracts will undergo review and selection via a blind peer review process. Time
and space constraints will dictate the number of posters selected for
presentation.
The lead presenter will be notified by email concerning the status of the
submission during the week of January 5, 2015. It is expected that the *lead
presenter will be present with the poster at the Summit. Poster presentations will
take place on Monday, March 30, 2015. The lead presenter (and any others who
plan to present) must register for the Summit. Registration fees are as follows:
For full time students with student ID:
 Day-only registration: $50 (includes breakfast and lunch for one day).
 Full Summit registration: $125 (includes all receptions, meals and
Monday dinner)
*Lead presenters who are full time students and have posters selected for presentation will
receive a discount code valued at $50 at the time of selection notification. The code can be applied
to the day-only registration, making it complimentary or applied to the Full Summit student
registration, making the total out of pocket cost for the entire event $75.
For faculty and all other non-student presenters:
 Early bird registration (on/before January 31, 2015): $295
 Regular registration (on/before February 28, 2015): $345
 Late registration (March 1 – March13, 2015): $375
 Walk-in registration: $425
 Monday dinner ticket: $25
A limited number of scholarships may be available for individuals accepted for a
poster presentation who otherwise would not be able to attend due to financial
hardship.
