January Eucharistic Minister Trainings
Wednesday, January 25th
Conference Room 1 6:30-8:30 pm.
CTK is blessed with a large parish and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy
Communion (EMHCs) are a vital part of every Mass. Over 100 EMHCs
volunteer every weekend to communicate the Precious Body and Blood to
our parishioners and visitors. All parishioners are invited to become
EMHCs. We are in particular need of at least three new EMHCs for the
*NOON* Mass on Sundays.
For current EMHCs who need recertification only, we have added an
additional DAYTIME date: Thursday, January 26th in Conference Room 1
from 9:30-10:30 am. Contact Jean Goodwin for more information at
404-664-3627 or [email protected].

Stewardship of Treasure
Today’s Gospel Reading is the onset of the Lord gathering His Apostles, as He
initially calls Peter and his brother Andrew, closely followed by the brothers James
and John. It is important to note that their response was immediate: “At once they
left their nets and followed him (Jesus).” There were no debates, no discussions, and
no long considerations. That is a great example to us. Do we hesitate; do we wait to
become a disciple of the Lord? We really should not. If we accept Him as our Savior
and as the cornerstone of our Church, our response, too, should be immediate and
definite.

Support Midtown Assistance Center
Christ the King School celebrates its 30th year of service to the
Midtown Assistance Center (MAC) through the annual 7th
grade food drive this November. The school provides the
longest continuous support to the outreach ministry for The
Basilica of the Sacred Heart, integrating Catholic social teaching
and gospel justice. Students collect food, help work at MAC for
the day and visit the Basilica. MAC is an interfaith organization
providing emergency assistance to those living in Atlanta and
who work in low income jobs. The school donations provide
nourishment to those in need and help the students learn from
this tradition of service.

WELCOME FROM THE PASTOR AND CATHEDRAL
COMMUNITY
Dear Friends in Christ,
Welcome! On behalf of Archbishop Wilton Gregory, the Clergy,
the staff, and the whole Cathedral community, I welcome you to
the Cathedral of Christ the King. I pray that as you step into the
Cathedral, you not only experience the beauty of the
surroundings but also the vibrant spirit of the community
gathered.
We are an active parish of close to 6,000 families and over one
hundred ministries. Our mission statement to “Know, Love and
Serve as Jesus Did” is fulfilled by the sharing our gifts of time,
talent and treasure. If you are new, it is my hope that you will
join us and become part of this wonderful community. If you are
just visiting, it is a blessing to have you here and thank you for
worshiping with us. We hope you will come again.
If you would like to learn more about our community, you can
visit our website at www.cathedralofchristtheking.org. If you
would like to register at the parish, you can visit our reception
desk for a registration form.
I pray that your visit to the Cathedral was enjoyable and that you
truly experienced the goodness of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Prayers and Blessings,
Msgr. Frank McNamee, Rector
