its entirety and you can mail the form, drop
it by the front office or hand it to one of
the ushers.
FIRST FRIDAY EUCHARISTIC
ADORATION
“Could you not watch with me one
hour?” (Matthew 26:40). Holy Hour gives
us the opportunity to honor Our Lord’s
request and place ourselves before
Him. We have Holy Hour every Friday
at 9:30 am after Morning Mass and we have
Eucharistic Adoration the first Friday of
every month at 9:30 am after our Morning
Mass.
MASS INTENTIONS
Mass Intentions are a long standing custom
in the Catholic faith and refer to the
particular purpose for which a Mass in
offered. The intention may be to honor
God or as a thank you for blessings you
have received. They can also be an
appropriate means of extending prayerful
support to a family whose loved one has
passed. It can also be an appropriate way of
celebrating an accomplishment or a
milestone - such as birthdays, graduations,
anniversaries, etc. If you wish to schedule a
Mass Intention, please stop by the front
office and speak with our secretaries or call
770-382-4549 ext. 10. For secretaries’ office
hours, please see the secretaries’ schedules
at the top of this page.
DID YOU KNOW…
The importance of using your envelopes to
tithe? If you are asked to be a Godparent, a
Sponsor for Baptism or Confirmation, one
of the requirements is to obtain a letter
from your parish that states you are in
good standing and attend Mass regularly.
The best way to do this is by using your
contribution envelope. Each family has a
family number, which is the number that is
used to identify each family, and is printed
on the outside of your envelopes. If you
use regular envelopes, please legibly write
your family number on the outside of the
envelope.

FAITH FORMATION
The mission of St. Francis Faith Formation is to support and encourage Catholic parents in their vocation of forming their
children in the Catholic faith.
PACEM IN
TERRIS
If, however,
this juridical
and political
structure is to
realize its
potential
benefits, it is
absolutely
essential that
public officials do their utmost to solve
the problems that arise; and they must
do so by using policies and techniques
which it is within their competence to
implement, and which suit the actual
condition of the State. It is also
essential that, despite constantly
changing conditions, legislators never
disregard the moral law or
constitutional provision, nor act at
variance with the exigencies of the
common good. And as justice must be
the guiding principle in the
administration of the State, and
executives must thoroughly understand
the law and carefully weigh all
attendant circumstances, so too in the
courts: justice must be administered
impartially, and judges must be wholly
incorrupt and uninfluenced by the
solicitations of interested parties. The
good order of society also requires that
individuals and subsidiary groups
within the State be effectively protected
by law in the affirmation of their rights
and the performance of their duties,
both in their relations with each other
and with government officials. (69)

HELP, HELP, HELP
The Loving Hands Knitting Group needs
your help. The Christmas Season Is right
around the corner and we have more
requests than ever.
We know that many of you who knit are
unable to attend our weekly meeting. We
are asking for your help. We need knitted
or crocheted 12” squares for afghans. They
can be any color and any stitch pattern
using #4 weight yarn. If you do not have
yarn, we should be able to supply it.
Finished squares can be turned into the
church office.
Thank you from all of us.
If you have any questions regarding this
request, please contact Carole Day at 770845-8003, Millie Holland at 770-514-1677
or Kay Nealey at 770-382-3296.
P.S. If you cannot knit or crochet, we will
teach you.
Gifts of IRA’s to the
parish:
Many people are calling to
see if they can do a
charitable rollover from their
IRA like they did last year.
At this point Congress has
not approved it but I will put
it in the bulletin as soon as
they do. In the meantime you can list the
parish endowment fund or the parish in
general as a beneficiary of your IRA. It will
go to the parish and no taxes will be due.
It will go to the parish outside of probate.
Giving to charity from an IRA is better
than giving it to children. Eventually the
children will have to pay taxes on the
proceeds. Leave insurance to the children
and give the IRA to the parish. For
additional information on planned giving
please contact Diane Duquette, Director of
Gift Planning at the Catholic Foundation
of North Georgia, 404-497-9440 or
[email protected]. Visit our website:
www.cfnga.org for information about
creating a Catholic legacy.
VIDA DE LA COMUNIDAD PARROQUIAL
PACEM IN
TERRIS
Sin embargo, para
que esta
organización
jurídica y política
de la comunidad
rinda las ventajas
que le son propias,
es exigencia de la misma realidad que
las autoridades actúen y resuelvan las
dificultades que surjan con
procedimientos y medios idóneos,
ajustados a las funciones específicas de
su competencia y a la situación actual
del país. Esto implica, además, la
obligación que el poder legislativo
tiene, en el constante cambio que 1a
realidad impone, de no descuidar jamás
en su actuación las normas morales, las
bases constitucionales del Estado y las
exigencias del bien común. Reclama,
en segundo lugar, que la
administración pública resuelva todos
los casos en consonancia con el
derecho, teniendo a la vista la
legislación vigente y con cuidadoso
examen crítico de la realidad concreta.
Exige, por último, que el poder judicial
dé a cada cual su derecho con
imparcialidad plena y sin dejarse
arrastrar por presiones de grupo
alguno. Es también exigencia de la
realidad que tanto el ciudadano como
los grupos intermedios tengan a su
alcance los medios legales necesarios
para defender sus derechos y cumplir
sus obligaciones, tanto en el terreno de
las mutuas relaciones privadas como en
sus contactos con los funcionarios
públicos. (69)

Intenciones de oración del Papa
Francisco Para el mes de Septiembre
Discapacitados Mentales.
muchas verdades diferentes. Sólo muchos
seres humanos, medios dormidos y
muerde" ¿Has escuchado eso antes?
