MSGR FLAHERTY
On Jan. 4, Bishop Parkes was installed
as the new bishop of the Diocese of
St. Petersburg.
When a diocese finds itself between
bishops, a diocesan administrator is
appointed to lead the diocese during
the interim.
Yesterday, Msgr. Flaherty, who has
been a part of the diocese since 1977
and former pastor of St Rita was
appointed the diocesan administrator of the Diocese of
Pensacola-Tallahassee.
"All five of the bishops I have served under were very different
kinds of leaders," Msgr. Flaherty said. "All five affected how I
lead, and there is something of each of them in me."
Msgr. Flaherty said that the process of selecting a new bishop
could take anywhere from a few months to a year, but for those
who are anxious about the lack of a bishop in our diocese, he
says this:
”We are the church, and we continue. We are faithful disciples of
Jesus. We are the church fully alive, and when a new bishop
comes, we will welcome him with joy."
Congratulations, Msgr. Flaherty! Thank you for
your leadership, and we will be praying for you!

LOCAL MINISTRY IN WALTON COUNTY:
They will be making these mats until October, 2017. They need clean,
used plastic bags, any size; any store… any color… You can just
bring the bags to Church and we will make sure that the women
receive them. Please CONTINUE bringing the plastic bags as the mats
are now being distributed to the homeless people by all the law
enforcement personnel in Walton and Okaloosa Counties as fast as the
ladies can make them!!! Thank You Very Much ;o)
