ALL SAINTS CATHOLIC CHURCH
M ass I ntentions
This year of 2016-2017, our parish theme is
Oct
We have found the Messiah. …
Come and you will see.
based on John 1:39, 41
All Saints is a tithing parish, giving of our time, talent,
and treasure so as to give glory to God.
W orld M ission S unday
Today is World Mission Sunday, and we focus on the theme,
taken from the Jubilee Year of Mercy, “Mercy changes the
world.” Pope Francis encourages and reminds us, “The
mercy of God is his loving concern for each one of us. …
As the Father loves, so do his children. Just as he is merciful,
so we are called to be merciful to each other.” [Misericordiae
Vultus, Bull of Indiction of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy].
The mission of mercy is present in our families, in our parish,
in the wider community, and throughout the world. We offer
our prayers and sacrifices for communities in need around
our world and for the missionaries who serve them. For more
information visit: w w w . p r o p fa i t h . n e t .

The 2nd collection next Sunday is for the Christmas Flower
Offering.
A Special Collection for Hurricane Relief, next Sat./Sun.,
Oct. 29-30. Hurricane Matthew earlier this month devastated
significant parts of the Southeast coast of the U.S., as well as
a number of Caribbean nations, particularly Haiti. While the
Church is always a primary source of healing and peace, it
is often the case that the Church in areas affected by natural
disasters is both an aid responder and a victim — many of the
Church’s structures have been damaged and local dioceses’
resources have been depleted. This makes it more difficult to
provide aid, comfort and pastoral outreach to those in need.
In light of this, the U.S. dioceses have been asked to take
up a special collection for those impacted by Hurricane
Matthew. One-third of the proceeds of our collection will
go to Catholic Relief Services to support their work in Haiti
and other affected nations, one-third will go to Catholic
Charities USA to support their efforts in the Southeast, and
one-third will go to the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh due to
the devastation caused by flooding in eastern North Carolina
and also in recognition of our diocese’s present particular
relationship with Bishop Burbidge of Raleigh. If you give
through Parish Giving electronic giving, you may log into
the website to make a donation for this collection.

The diverse forms of Consecrated Life include: Monastic
Life, the Orders of Virgins, Hermits, and Institutes completely
devoted to contemplation, Apostolic Religious Life, Secular
Institutes, Societies of Apostolic Life, and new or renewed
forms of the consecrated life (cf. Vita Consecrata, 6-12).
The most familiar to us are probably those in religious life
taking vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Each form is
described in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

¿T ienes
