Dear parish family,
27 Sunday C
WELCOME TO OUR PARISH FAMILY BAZAAR! Let’s all have a parish family fun and strengthen our parish
bonding as a community of faith through our fellowships. The food, games, all other activities are all simply the means
towards the end, which is our fraternity and solidarity to support one another in this parish with
all the best wishes for financial gain for us to lessen our parish debt.
In behalf of the parish, THANK YOU SO MUCH for your love and devotion to the parish
which you
concretely express through your financial donations, sponsorships, buying raffle tickets, giving
gifts, and many varied items for Silent Auction, etc.. And surely we truly appreciate all those who work hard behind the scene and right there on the scene through the whole bazaar day attending many things to make
things work. Thank you Booth Sponsors (sorry I don’t have the names listed at this time of writing), and all
the volunteers who manned them. Good things happen because of them.
Thank you Bazaar Chairman, Karl Paulissen, for efficient management and Bazaar Committee,
most
especially Cheryl & Peggy, who got the brunt of the work in all preparations! Also, thanks for big help
from Al Pena, Humberto, the Knights of Columbus, and many others – many names to mention so my apology
if I can’t mention all. Because of you we have a successful and wonderful bazaar! And congratulations in
advance the winners of the Raffles and the big winner of the whole event, the Parish church!
October 2 is Respect Life Sunday, but actually the whole month is annually observed as Respect Life
Month in Catholic Churches across our nation. This observance provides a wonderful opportunity for all of us
and most especially for catechists to teach children and youth the truth about the dignity of the human person.
Human life is under constant attack in our culture today; from the moment of conception to natural death. Life is
threatened because so many no longer understand what it means to be human, and what our humanity calls
forth from us in our responsibility to care for other persons. Let us never cease this urgent work – to stand and
to fight for the culture of life that it will prevail over the culture of death. I encourage individuals and groups to
participate in the various programs, like for example 40 days for Life & Life Chain, during October Respect Life
Month, and throughout the year.
Enjoy the Bazaar and Blessings to all!
Fr. Tony
Estimada familia parroquial,
27 Domingo C
Y sobretodo apreciamos realmente a
Debido a
P. Tony

Garland of Mercy...
In this Jubilee Year, we are asked to
open our eyes and hearts to see how
God is working in our lives and to more
actively spread His mercy out to
others. We are creating a Garland of
Mercy with our teen group to bear
witness to our efforts to help others.
For the entire year, we are asking each
week when you do works of mercy, to write down one
or more works on the strips of paper in the ends of the
pews. Please put them into the collection basket so
that we offer up, not just our treasure to the Lord, but
our time and talent in a visible way.
Red Strips are for The Corporal Works of Mercy:
feeding the hungry, clothing the needy, visiting the sick
or imprisoned.
White Strips are for The Spiritual Works of Mercy:
Counseling the doubtful, bearing wrongs patiently,
forgiving offences willingly and praying for the living
and the dead.
Gold Ones are for the acts of mercy which we received
from others.
I know that all of you are part of spreading God’s mercy
out into the world. Please take the time to become
more conscious of it and take credit for it here before
the Lord.
