En un mundo cada vez más global donde
lo urgente es lo que predomina, nosotros
apostamos por un estilo más pausado, una

In an increasingly globalized world where
the only thing that matters is urgency, we rely
on a life style slower, a calmly evolution and
a sustained growth.
Debido a nuestras raíces mediterráneas tenemos
en lo genes el intentar dar lo máximo en cada
segundo, conscientes de que ese instante no
volverá jamás y queriendo exprimir al máximo
cada paso que damos.
Due to our Mediterranean roots, we carry
in our genes to attempt to give our maximum
every second, because we are aware that
each moment will not return, and so, we wish
to get the most out of every step we take.
Con esta base nos lanzamos al gran público
bajo el paraguas de nuestra marca: Mouet.
Un nombre derivado del concepto “movere”, que
significa “en movimiento” en latín. En esta continua
evolución usamos el único elemento sobre el
que nadie tiene poder: el tiempo. Mostramos
sin tapujos su paso, intentando localizar y
aportar diseños que se conviertan en iconos.
On this basis, we stand up to the general
public under the umbrella of our brand: Mouet.
This name derives from the concept ‘movere’,
meaning moving in Latin. In this continuous
evolution we use the only element on which
nobody has power: time. We transparently
show the passage of time, and try to localize
and provide designs that become icons.

DESIGN
Debido a nuestra formación en arquitectura
y diseño, mostramos una excelente (a veces
incluso obsesiva) atención al detalle.
Thanks to our academic education in architecture
and design, we pay an excellent, sometimes
even obsessive, attention to detail.
Diseñamos partiendo de conceptos que nos
motiven, bocetamos intentando encontrar el
punto formal deseado y hacemos prototipos
ajustados hasta la última micra obteniendo
una ergonomía idónea. Nos apasiona nuestro
trabajo y por eso seguimos este método hasta
lograr exactamente lo que buscamos.
Therefore, our designs are based on those concepts
that encourage us; we make our sketches by trying to
find the desired formal point, and prepare prototypes
by exactly measuring to one micron, and thus, we
obtained the most suitable ergonomics. We really
love our job and that is why we follow this method
until we precisely get what we are looking for.

We all understand the design as a process
in which people must feel clearly identified.
Our team designs every glasses frames as
a natural extension of every person by having
a seamless integration.

y ensambladas a mano en España por
profesionales con más de 30 años de
experiencia en una conjunción ideal entre
artesanía y tecnología.
All our glasses frames have been made and
assembled by hand in Spain by our professional
staff who has more than 30 years of experience
in a perfect combination between handicraft
and technology.
Además, tanto la funda como la caja han
sido diseñadas por nosotros y fabricadas
en España con un mismo objetivo: calidad.
Moreover, both our glasses cases and boxes have
been designed by our team and manufactured in
Spain with one common goal: quality.

En Mouet nos comprometemos con el aspecto
que más nos fascina: la calidad. Trabajamos
con acetatos de Mazzucchelli 1849, usando
en la gran mayoría de nuestros modelos
su versión biodegradable, el M49.
We are committed ourselves to the issue that
largely strikes us: quality. We work with 1849
Mazzucchelli’s acetate; and its biodegradable
version, the M49, is used in most of our
glass models.
Nos gusta tratar el acetato con mimo y cuidado,
por eso pulimos las gafas durante 4 días,
cambiando el grano de pulido para darle el
aspecto uniforme y duradero que deseamos.
We actually like to treat the acetate with great
care that is why we polish the glasses for 4 days,
by using different polished grain size in order to
get the uniform and lasting aspect that we desire.
Las charnelas, después de incrustarlas con
cuidado, son limpiadas una a una para eliminar
cualquier residuo que pueda afectar al uso
normal de la gafa.
After having embedded the hinges, they are
cleaned up one at a time to remove any residue
that could affect the normal use of the glasses.
Nuestras lentes son del material CR39,
el balance perfecto entre nitidez y durabilidad.
Esto aporta gran comodidad sin restricciones
de uso, rasgos que buscamos en una gafa
del siglo XXI.
Our glasses are made of the CR39 material,
which allows to achieve the right balance
between sharpness and durability. This material
provides a great excellent comfort without
restrictions of usage, and these are the features
that we seek in a glass of the XXI century.

HONESTY
Cuando los dedos tocan el vaso, provocan una vibración
de menos de un cuarto de milímetro, pero es imposible no
derramar parte del líquido. Está hasta arriba.
El licor está caliente. Como una manzanilla. Pero en contraste
con la temperatura del local, al deslizarse por la parte
exterior de la mano, la refresca. No es un frescor agradable.
Es un frescor pesado y pegajoso. Tan pesado, como la
conversación que tendrá lugar en menos de quince segundos.
El vaso de chupito toca la parte delantera del labio inferior.
Me viene a la cabeza los camiones de volteo de una obra
civil. Basculando el volquete, dejando caer la tierra sin
medida. Cuanto más rápido se vacíe, mejor.
El chupito deja caer su carga. La garganta está abierta
como un túnel de autopista. Quema. Pero eso sí es
agradable. No hay sabor. Ni dolor.
La cerveza, fría como una comida de empresa, llega a la
boca tan rápido como la anestesia general del whisky le
ha permitido al cerebro dar la orden. Apaga las llamas
como una unidad de incendios forestales, y me regala el
sabor dulzón que tanto ansiaba.

When the fingers touch the glass they cause a vibration of
less than a quarter of one millimetre, but it is impossible do
not spill some of the fluid. The glass is full to the brim.

I am thinking of dump trucks in a civil work. Tilting the tipper,
dropping the soil without measure. The quicker it empties, the better.
The shot glass drops its load. The throat is wide open like a
motorway tunnel. It is burning. But at the same time that is
pleasant. There is no taste. Nor pain.
The beer, cold like a business lunch, reaches the mouth as quick as
the general anaesthesia of whisky is allowing the brain to give its
order. The beer puts out the flames as if it was a forest fire squad,
and gives me the long-awaited sweetish taste, which I yearned for.
I am ready.
