CVs DE LOS PONENTES
Dr. Michael Heidenreich
Dr. Michael Heidenreich, Ph.D. is working as part time senior researcher for the
University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences of Vienna (BOKU) as well as
consultant at Greenovate! Europe and Clean Energy Solutions. He has experience as
project officer at the European Commission's Directorate General for Research and
Development, and with socio-economic / techno-economic aspects and effects of various
EC research projects from the 5th Framework Program to Horizon 2020. Michael
Heidenreich develops and implements projects in the field of applied research at the
European and national level and is the Technical Director of the smart city project
EU-GUGLE. He is also a consulting partner in the MeeFS and SINFONIA projects.
Wolfram Sparber
Wolfram Sparber has been head of the Institute for Renewable Energy at the European
Research Academy Bolzano-Bozen for over 10 years. He is a president of the Management
Board of the Energy Utility “Alperia” and a Vice President of the Board of the
European Technology Platform Renewable Heating and Cooling. He is coordinating the
Italian Delegation within the Alpine Energy Platform.. In recent years, Sparber has
been a visiting professor at various universities in Italy and Japan. Sparber studied
Applied Physics at the universities of Graz (Austria) and Barcelona (Spain) and worked
for the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) in Freiburg (Germany).
Javier González
Mr Javier González. MSc in Environmental Sciences (Autonomous University of Madrid,
2003) and Master in International Business Management, has been working at Zabala
Innovation Consulting since 2008, where he is a RTD consultant specialized in
Environment, Energy and Industrial technological issues. Since 2008, he has provided
diverse RTD consultancy services, focusing on multinational companies, including the
support for the preparation, application and management of projects in Horizon 2020,
7th Framework Programme, and other EU, national and regional programmes. He combines
the provision of consultancy services with project management tasks, coordinating the
European Projects management support services provided by the organization. He is
involved in several projects, including SINFONIA, where he leads the tasks related to
knowledge transfers.
Klaus Kleewein
Klaus Kleewein is Project Manager responsible for Enterprise Europe Network and the
SINFONIA project within Sinfonia/ Standortagentur Tirol - Agency for Innovation and
Technology, Innsbruck (Austria). Before that, he worked as Geographic Analyst for
Nokia L&C HERE (former NAVTEQ Austria Ltd.), and was a Research Fellow at the Austrian
Academy of Sciences - Institute of Mountain Research. He holds Master degrees in
Applied Economics and Geography from the University of Innsbruck, and studied
geography at the University of Sevilla.

María Carmen Clarisa Castreño Lucas
Ms Carmen Castreño is Vice President of CEMS, responsible for economy, trade and
institutional relations. She is also member of the Governing Board of the City of
Seville and Vice Mayor. She holds a degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of
Córdoba, and is qualified in High Level Management from the San Telmo International
Institute. Ms Carmen Castreño has experience as teacher and academic tutor in National
Distance Education University, Faculty of Chemical Sciences. She has also been
involved in the Port Authority, holding the positions of Head of External relations,
Secretary of the Board of Directors and President.
Esperanza Caro Gómez
Ms Esperanza Gómez is currently Director for Economy and Trade at Seville's City
Council. She holds degrees in Industrial Engineering, Chemistry and Environmental
Management from the University of Seville. She is also expert in innovation
management. Her career as high officer in the regional government started in 1994,
where here work has always been related to environmental and research issues. She has
occupied the positions of Technical Advisor in the Regional Ministry of Environment,
General Director for Prevention and Environmental Quality, and Secretary General for
Global Warming and Environmental Quality.
Adolfo Borrero
Adolfo Borrero. Expert in the areas of smart cities, IT and energy, he holds a degree
in Electric Engineering, Energy Efficiency and Sustainability from the University of
Seville, as well as a MBA in Business Management. He is cofounder of Bolt Accelerator
and Cactus², and is involved in the AMETIC (Association of electric and IT companies),
where he chairs a commission on smart cities.
