Mission Statement
We, the Parish

Spirit Catholic
Church, are a
family of many
cultural
backgrounds.
Our mission is to
enrich the spiritual
life of all
parishioners,
through the active
participation in
prayer and the
sacraments,
promoting
opportunities to
grow in faith and
hope, and
providing a place
to come together
in the love of God
and neighbor. We
are committed to
the needs of our
parishioners and to
reach beyond to
serve the needs of
others. We are
called by the Spirit
to witness the
forgiving, healing
and saving

We are in need of Ushers, especially for

DID YOU KNOW?
SB128 Physician Assisted Suicide Bill.
Most assisted suicide patients die alone. In 80% of cases in
Oregon, there is no health care provider present at the time of
death. Families do not have to be notified. Physicians who
prescribe the means to suicide abandon the Hippocratic Oath to
“Do No Harm” in favor of money. They do not even have to know
the patient nor are they required to help with pain alleviation, or
refer the person for counseling for depression. Most patients do
not choose suicide to avoid pain. It is an impulsive “solution”
which emanates from a fear of loss of control of their ability to
function and fear of being a burden to others. Palliative care
medicine assists the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual
needs of the patient. The Catholic Church does not require
persons to bear undue suffering or prolong the life with the use of
extraordinary measures. With the assistance of physicians who
value human life, patients can be helped to live without pain and
to have time to complete their life with real dignity.

REST IN PEACE
Our Parish Community wishes to extend our
sympathy to the family and friends of all the
faithful departed, especially Phi Van Ngo. May
they rest in peace.
All parishioners are asked to
do their part in protecting our
children from the horrific sin
of “HUMAN TRAFFICKING in our city.” We urgently need the help of faithminded citizens to help man our “STOP HUMAN
TRAFFICKING BOOTH,” set up each Friday on
the boardwalk at the Huntington Beach Pier. We
are handing out awareness literature of this sinful
violation on our children to be obliterated. This is
a great way for young adults to earn volunteer
hours. Please contact May Silva at 714-848-1901
for more information. All are welcome!!
