of union in finding the perfect locations for your audio-visual
productions on this Island. We are a non-profit public office
administered by the Gran Canaria Tourist Board, which helps
those filming movies, short films, television and advertising.

Gran Canaria is ‘A Miniature Continent’. Its
diverse landscapes, its geographic position and
its exceptional 365-day a year climate, favour that
this island of scarcely 1,560 square kilometres be
a privileged natural stage for outdoor filming.
To all this one must add the tax advantages,
the best in Europe: up to 35% tax rebate for
international productions and up to 38% tax
credit for Spanish films or coproductions.
OUR OBJECTIVES:
• Attract to Gran Canaria the filming of scientific, informative
or recreational audiovisual projects both nationally and
internationally, converting the Island into a natural stage
ideal for outdoor filming.
• Help with obtaining permits necessary for foreign producers
to film their audiovisual projects, at the same time as
bridging a path to all the resources and professionals that
institutions and local businesses in the sector offer in Gran
Canaria.
• Internationally project and protect the image of Gran
Canaria.
• Promote the resources and tourist infrastructures of the
Island.

The Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA) is an independent
organisation belonging to the National Secretariat of Culture that plans the support
policies of the Spanish film industry and audiovisual production. It is in charge of
undertaking the responsibilities involved in the economic and cultural aspects of
the film industry and oversees its general development and promotion, thus being
responsible for awarding assistance and subsidies to cinema under the legal system.
The ICAA is chaired by the Minister of Education, Culture and Sport.
