SCHOOL REGISTRATION
Registration for Holy Trinity Catholic School is ongoing. Anyone wishing to register a child/children for the
2015-2016 school year is asked to call the school (843-390-4108) to make an appointment with the
principal, arrange for a tour of the school and receive an application form. The school office is open each
day from 8:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Thursday and from 8:00am to 12:00 noon on Friday. If you
are interested, please call the school as soon as possible.
TEACHING POSITIONS OPEN
Holy Trinity Catholic School is accepting resumes for two teaching positions. The first position involves teaching Math to
students of Grades 4 through 8 and the second position involves teaching Social Studies to students of Grades 4 through
8. The successful applicant will have a degree in Education and be SC certified or hold comparable certification from
another state. Faith formation is of utmost importance, so the applicant must be an active and practicing Catholic. If you
or someone you know is interested in either of these positions, please call either the school (843) 390-4108 and ask to
speak with the principal or send a cover letter and resume via e-mal to [email protected].
GIVING TREE
The Holy Trinity Catholic School Giving Tree is located in the narthex of the church. The tags on the tree
list items that would be beneficial to Holy Trinity Catholic School as it begins its seventh year of providing
quality Catholic Education. Along with the item is a donation that would cover the cost of the item listed.
If you would like to donate an item, simply put the item amount into the envelope and drop it in the
collection basket or leave it at the church or school offices. In the past, many of you have donated to
the school through the Giving Tree and those donations have had a huge impact on the educational
program at the school. The Giving Tree will remain in the narthex through Labor Day weekend.

A Prayer for Hurricane Season
O God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble
voices of your children. The Sea of Galilee obeyed
your order and returned to its former quietude; you are
still the Master of land and sea. We live in the shadow
of a danger over which we have no control. During
this hurricane season, we turn to You, O loving
Father. Spare us from past tragedies whose memories
are still so vivid and whose wounds seem to refuse to
heal with the passing of time.
O Virgin, Star of the Sea, Our Beloved Mother, we ask
you to plead with your Son on our behalf, so that we
are spared from the calamities common to this area,
and animated with a true spirit of gratitude, we will
walk in the footsteps of your Divine Son to reach the
heavenly Jerusalem where a storm-less eternity awaits
us.
Amen.

WELCOME THE VISITING MADONNA
While we are encouraged to embrace
Jesus’ cross, perhaps the next best
thing we can do as the faithful is to turn
to
the
Blessed
Mother
for
guidance…”Blessed Mother, please
help me.” As human beings, we can’t
do everything. But the Blessed Mother
can go to her Son Jesus and do
wonders.
The Knights of Columbus are offering
intimate prayer devotions in your own
homes to all parishioners so that every
family may experience visitation for one
week from our Visiting Madonna.
Families will begin to experience a
sense of peace, quiet and reflection
while saying the Rosary as a family with Our Lady. The family
that prays together stays together. If you are interested in
participating in welcoming the Visiting Madonna, please call Sam
Konrad at (843) 399-7003 or email him at [email protected].
This week, The Visiting Madonna will be presented to

Catholic Communications
This is how all will know that you are my disciples,
if you have love for one another.” (Jn 13:35)
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
Participation in the Peter’s Pence Collection
gives us an opportunity be a witness of
charity to our brothers and sisters around the
world. Gifts to this annual collection help our
Holy Father, Pope Francis, to support victims
of war and natural disasters and others most
in need of assistance.
The Peter’s Pence Collection unites us in solidarity with the
Holy Father and his works of charity toward those who are
suffering around the world. Pope Francis reminds us that true
power lies not in amassing possessions and resources for
ourselves but in giving. “We must never forget that true
power, at any level, is service, whose bright summit is upon
the Cross . . . it means entering the logic of Jesus who kneels
to wash the Apostles’ feet,” he said. Your contributions to the
Peter’s Pence Collection join with the power of Christ to give
support to those in need.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As many of you are aware, registered
South Carolina voters passed a referendum
by an overwhelming majority in
November 2014 that authorizes non-profit
organizations to host raffles, or games of chance. The
referendum was then ratified by the South Carolina
General Assembly and sent to Gov. Nikki Haley for
her signature. This new non-profit raffle law became
effective on April 4, 2015. The Diocese of Charleston
has been actively reviewing the implications of this
new law for over six months. It has been determined
that maintaining proper compliance with the very
stringent reporting requirements for all parishes and
schools in our diocese will be too difficult to perform.
On May 26, the Presbyteral Council recommended by
a unanimous vote that the diocese continue the longstanding ban on games of chance, including raffles
and bingo. This is a policy that was instituted by the
late Bishop David B. Thompson and continued by
each successor.
I have decided to accept the
recommendation of the Presbyteral Council. This
ban on games of chance does not apply to other
organizations that are separately incorporated nonprofits (i.e. Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts of
America, etc.) but will apply to all parish and non
parish ministries.
While these separately
incorporated non-profit organizations are permitted
to host games of chance, they are not permitted to do
so on parish, school, or diocesan owned property.
All questions and concerns should be directed to
Michael F. Acquilano at [email protected] or 843-853-2130, ext 231. I appreciate your
attention to this important matter.

DECIMO SEGUNDO DOMINGO EN EL TIEMPO ORDINARIO
FELIZ DIA DE DEL PADRE
Queridos Hermanos:
2. Querido papá tenga buena comunicación con tu esposa y con tus hijos. Sepa escuchar y no critique. Sea prudente,
4. Querido papá ame y respete a tu esposa.
conocer y amar a Dios.
caridad.
Cordialmente;
Padre Orlando.

COMPARATIENDO NOTICIAS…..
mundo.
“No debemos olvidar nunca
Peter’s Pence.
Sinceramente suyo en Cristo,
Reverendísimo Robert E. Guglielmone
Obispo de Charleston
