In the rumen, many nutrients are degraded before ever reaching the small intestine. This
means that the cow’s nutrient requirements are not being met to maximize its production
potential. When possible, these nutrient deficiencies should be corrected. One of the
most efficient methods for correcting nutrient deficiencies is with rumen-protected
supplements. H.J. Baker focuses on precision delivery protein, specifically amino acids.
High performing dairy cows need more energy and amino acids. Most important to milk
production are the first and second limiting amino acids -- those that literally limit
production and component percentages. These are methionine and lysine and both are

The challenge today is in reaching target
levels of Lysine and Methionine, identified
as the two most limiting amino acids in
dairy cows. With the success of our rumen
protected lysine product, MetaboLys®, it was
clear we needed an effective rumen protected
methionine product that could work as
effectively for our customers.
Like MetaboLys®, which delivers 225 grams
of metabolizable Lysine, it is the amount of
the amino acid that is available in the small
intestine that impacts milk production and
milk components. That’s where we focus our
data and research.
For every 1,000 grams of product fed,
MetaboMetTM delivers 340 grams of
metabolizable Methionine.
These two products separately are
outstanding and together they complete a
package many of our most successful farms
have been requesting.
The right amino acid profile for maximum
milk production and premium content is a
lot like a puzzle. If the feed ration is missing
a piece, it will ultimately cost our customers
