Reflexión Semanal
Weekly Reflection
Our boundless Easter joy
Nuestro infinito gozo de Pascua
Today’s readings and prayers almost leap from their
pages. They energize us and continue the celebration
of “these days of joy which we keep in honor of the
risen Lord” (Collect). We continue to experience the
Easter jubilation of Christ’s victory over death. This is
a celebration which can not be contained. In the reading from Acts, Peter demonstrates that he understands
this when he tells Cornelius and the others that, “in
truth, I see that God shows no partiality. Rather, in
every nation whoever fears him and acts uprightly is
acceptable to him.” Peter speaks of this inclusive nature of God’s love, while the responsorial psalm records that, “all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation by our God.” John confirms this truth in his first
letter, “In this is love: not that we have loved God, but
that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our
sins.” This love is exampled in our daily lives. The first
relationship that we encounter which models God’s
unconditional love is that with our mother. Today’s celebration of mothers reminds us that God asked Mary
and asks mothers to love as He does, without limit.
Mothers respond by their very nature, which has been
created and blessed by
God.
They willingly
bear pain and suffering
to give new life. This life
-giving act echoes that
of Jesus. Today, the
Collect encourages us
to pray that “we may
celebrate with heartfelt
devotion” the Easter
triumph reflected in the
beautiful love of our
mothers.
nueva vida. Este acto que da vida
nos recuerda el acto de Jesús. En
la Oración Colecta de hoy somos
motivados a rezar para celebrar de
todo corazón y con devoción el
triunfo de la Pascua, reflejado en el
hermoso amor de nuestras madres.

They do not look like scary people that anyone should
know to avoid. They do live with their families and in our
neighborhoods. An important way to assure the safety of
children is to know the warning signs of adults who present a risk of harm to children. Some of these signs include: 1. Wanting to be alone with children. 2. Allowing
children to do things their parents would not permit. 3.
Being more excited to be with children than with adults. 4.
Discouraging others from participating in activities involving kids. For information about the VIRTUS® Child Sexual Abuse Prevention programs contact: [email protected] or go to www.virtus.org.

Celebremos los 50 días de
Pascua
Many Meals
