This orientation is intended for families of regional
out of the family home into a different kind of
living arrangement. We present this session as the
first formal step towards that move.

This popular training is for parents, family members
and caregivers of individuals with special needs.
The presentation covers the laws governing
conservatorship, what it will mean in terms of
decision making, whether it is necessary, how to
choose the right conservator, and how to get
appointed. Presented by Richard Schwartz, Attorney

support for HRC clients, Supplemental Security
Income, or SSI. The presentation will include
information about the SSI program, eligibility
criteria and benefits. Disability benefits, survivor’s
benefits and dependent benefits and their effect on

Social Services and run by each County, the
In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program. Learn
about IHSS eligibility, how support hours are
determined, how to prepare for an appointment
with your IHSS worker, and what to do if you don’t

Mi familia y Yo es una clase para ninos de 6 meses
a 3 años de edad. Esta clase se provee regularmente
una vez por mes, el cuarto Sábado del mes en
la oficina del Centro Regional Harbor en Long
Beach. Durante esta clase se incorpora música,
movimiento, lectura, socialización, rutina, juguetes
educativos y actividades de artes manuales. La clase
es facilitada junto con los padres de familias o con
los padres de crianza para que las familias
