MERCADO COLÓN
El Mercado de Colón es un antiguo mercado ubicado en la ciudad de Valencia y destinado en su día para cubrir las
crecientes necesidades del Ensanche de la ciudad, dominado por la clase burguesa.
El edificio, concebido y realizado por el arquitecto Francisco Mora Berenguer entre los años 1914 y 1916, es un claro
ejemplo de arquitectura modernista de principios del siglo XX.
Declarado Monumento Nacional, fue restaurado por completo durante el año 2003, y aunque modernizado, el edificio
mantiene su importancia arquitectónica.
Actualmente incluye numerosos comercios, cafeterías e incluso un aparcamiento subterráneo.

Mercado de Colón is one of Valencia’s former markets, originally created to meet the growing needs of a predominantly
bourgeois city as it expanded.
Designed and created by architect Francisco Mora Berenguer between the years 1914 and 1916, the building is a
clear example of early 20th century Modernist architecture now declared a National Monument.
The market was fully restored in 2003 and it currently features shops, cafés and even an underground car park.

INALCO participa por segundo año consecutivo en la iniciativa ShowBoom durante la feria Cevisama 2015.
Dentro del recorrido por lugares emblemáticos de una ciudad tan hermosa como Valencia, Inalco repite ubicación
en el Mercado de Colón, uno de los espacios modernistas más carismáticos y bellos, marco ideal donde exponer
iTOPKer Solutions, tablas porcelánicas para encimeras y bancadas.
El entorno es un claro ejemplo de la convivencia de materiales como el hierro, el ladrillo, la cerámica y el vidrio en la
arquitectura de grandes espacios. El Mercado de Colón constituye el mejor escenario para mostrar las novedades y
soluciones cerámicas dentro del espíritu innovador de Inalco.

For the second year running, INALCO is taking part in ShowBoom during the 2015 edition of Cevisama.
We have chosen one of the most charismatic, beautiful Modernist monuments from among the emblematic buildings on
the lovely city of Valencia’s ShowBoom route to present our iTOPKer Solutions porcelain slabs for use as countertops:
Mercado de Colón (Market Colón).
The market is a clear example of a skilful combination of materials - iron, brick, tiles and glass - in a large work of
architecture. What better place than Mercado de Colón to showcase our new tile products and solutions and to

La huella del tiempo...
Los objetos envejecen a un ritmo pausado y tranquilo. Si conseguimos apreciar y entender la armonía de la vida,

Contemplando los elementos cotidianos que nos rodean, recordamos cómo llegaron hasta nosotros y crecimos junto
a ellos. Los objetos nos transmiten emociones y sensaciones, forman parte de nosotros.
El paso del tiempo realza las cualidades naturales de los materiales e invita a entender la belleza como algo vivo que
cambia y mejora con el paso de los años.

The signature of time...
Objects age at a gentle pace. If we learn to appreciate and understand life’s harmonious quality, we come to realize
that the passing of time is a positive asset that transforms things by lending them beauty and expressive appeal. When
we look at those everyday things that surround us, we recall how they came to be part of our lives and how we grew
up alongside them. Objects spark off feelings and emotions; they are intrinsically linked to us.
The passage of time enhances materials’ natural qualities, inspiring us to regard beauty as something that is alive and
improves with the passing of the years.
If we apply this trend to our products, the resulting simple, uncontrived, worn natural surfaces have an aesthetic charm
