K-8 Literacy
At Potter’s House we have been focusing on helping our students to develop critical
reading skills. Our literacy scores are continually improving, and now we are excited to
be able to show parents how to help cultivate those skills at home.
During conferences, parents can stop by our literacy table on the first floor to learn very
cool and effective ways to read with their children at home. Our AmeriCorps workers
Grace and Ava will be teaching these skills at the K-8 building:
Wednesday, February 10, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Thursday, February 11, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
We have seen students make great strides using these practices, and they only take
about 5 minutes to learn.
Free Piano
A generous donor has a piano to give to a family who needs one. It's a 40-year old
Grinnell Brothers piano. It was tuned 4 years ago, and is in good shape. Dimensions
are: 60" wide, 25" deep, and 40" tall. You would need to pick up. Please contact Judy
in Development at [email protected] or 616-241-5220 if interested.
