URGENT NOTICE
Dear Parents/Guardians:
This letter is written to remind you about The Metropolitan High School policy
regarding electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers, MP3 players, and iPods, which
is supported by Chancellor’s Regulations.
Please be advised that it is a violation of school policy for electronic devices to be
visible or heard anywhere on the school grounds during school hours, including afterschool activities (8:30 am – 6:00 pm). Students will be asked by staff or security to turn in
the device when in violation of this policy. Additionally, demerits will be issued. Students
that refuse to surrender an electronic device will be suspended. This policy will be
strictly enforced. In addition, DOE has indicated that we may have random electronic
scanning.
Upon entering the Metropolitan High School building students have the option of
surrendering their electronic device/s to the Dean, School Safety Agent, or designated
Staff members. Devices will be stored in a locked area until the end of the day, at which
time students may pick up their device/s.
WE WILL NOT ALLOW ELECTRONIC DEVICE USE IN THE BUILDING AT ANY TIME
INCLUDING LUNCH PERIOD AND DISMISSAL.
We understand that emergencies occur during school hours. As such, don’t hesitate to call
the main office should you need to contact your child.
Finally, please note that confiscated items will only be returned to the parent or
guardian on the 1st Monday of each month.
Please sign this letter on the line below, and have your child return it to his/her advisory
teacher on Monday, February 28, 2015.

Aviso Urgente
Estimados Padres / Tutor:
Esta carta es para recordarles las políticas de Metropolitan High School relativa a los
dispositivos electrónicos, como teléfonos celulares, localizadores, reproductores mp3 e
ipods, política que es apoyado por el Canciller.
Por favor, tenga en cuenta que se trata de una violación de la política escolar de los
dispositivos electrónicos que se pueden ver o escuchar en cualquier lugar del
recinto educativo durante el horario escolar, incluyendo actividades después de la escuela
(8:30am - 6:00pm). Si algún estudiante viola dicha política el personal de seguridad le
pedirá al estudiante que le entregue el dispositivo electrónico. Además, dicho
inconvenientes será publicado. Los estudiantes que se niegan a entregar dicho dispositivo
electrónico serán suspendidos. Esta política se hará cumplir estrictamente. Asimismo,
el DOE ha indicado que es posible que tengamos escaneo electrónico al azar.
Al entrar al recinto educativo de Metropolitan High School los estudiantes tienen la opción
de renunciar a su dispositivo electrónico al Dean, agente de seguridad escolar o a los
miembros del personal designados. Los dispositivos se almacenaran en un área cerrada
hasta el final del día, y en ese momento los estudiantes podrán recoger su dispositivos.
NOSOTROS NO VAMOS A PERMITIR EL USO DE DISPOSITIVOS ELECTRÓNICOS EN
DEL EDIFICIO EN CUALQUIER MOMENTO INCLUYENDO ALMUERZO Y DESPIDO.
Nosotros entendemos que situaciones de emergencia se presentan durante el horario
escolar. Por lo tanto, no dude en ponerse en contacto con la oficina si necesita contactar su
hija/o.
Finalmente, tenga en cuenta que los objetos confiscados solamente se devolverán a los
padres o tutores en el 1er Lunes de cada mes.
Por favor, firme esta carta sobre la línea indicada abajo, y que su hijo se la devuelva a su
Maestra/o Asesor el Lunes, 28 de febrero 2015.
