Pentecost Sunday, May 24, 2015
Theme: We have been given the br eath of God the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Breaking Open the Word: Suggested text for
faith sharing: 1st Reading from Acts 2:1-11
When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were
all in one place together. And suddenly there came
from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and
it filled the entire house in which they were. Then
there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which
parted and came to rest on each one of them. And
they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began
to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled
them to proclaim.
Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven staying in Jerusalem. At this sound, they
gathered in a large crowd, but they were confused
because each one heard them speaking in his own
language. They were astounded, and in amazement
they asked, “Are not all these people who are
speaking Galileans? Then how does each of us hear
them in his native language? We are Parthians,
Medes, and Elamites, inhabitants of Mesopotamia,
Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia
and Pamphylia, Egypt and the districts of Libya
near Cyrene, as well as travelers from Rome, both
Jews and converts to Judaism, Cretans and Arabs,
yet we hear them speaking in our own tongues of
the mighty acts of God.”
Step One: Listen to the Word
As you listen to this dramatic reading again today,
what image strikes you in the story? What single
word or phrase catches your ear or touches your
heart?
May 17, 2015
Step Two: Look into Your Life
Question for Children: When have you hear d
your inner voice or conscience guiding you to
do what is right?
Question for Youth: When have you felt the
Holy Spirit in your life?
Question for Adults: Shar e about times when
you felt the power of the Spirit, giving you the
right words, giving you insight into a dilemma,
or in other ways.

WHAT’S HAPPENING AROUND OUR FACILITIES
As you all know, we have had a brutal winter here at St. Ignatius Loyola and all over our Island. Many of you are dealing with broken sidewalks and driveways. We have the same problems
here. Currently, work is being done along the edge outside of Rooms E & F in the Old School Building.
Every time it rains, we have experienced flooding. My hope is that this work will allow the room to
be dry. In the meantime, unfortunately, we cannot hold any functions in the room until the “all clear”
sign is given.
We will begin working on the parking lot soon. The first step is to take care of the parts that
are broken along the priests garages and the minor depression. Once we receive approval, my hope
is to work on the parking lot as a whole, most especially in the back. With all that has to be done,
donations are greatly appreciated. More to come in the future.
Congratulations once again to our Fr. Benjamin on his Graduation from Hebrew University! God
bless you!
.
May God bless you and Mary keep you and your families. May we remember to always do things for the
greater glory of God. St. Ignatius Loyola, pray for us!

No hay unidad donde no hay amor, no hay

Al igual que los apóstoles, nosotros los cristianos nos corresponde ser continuadores de esa

STEWARDSHIP
Stewardship Thought for the Week
Jesus is the perfect STEWARD—watching carefully over all who had been entrusted to Him by the
Father and then sending them all out into the world
in service. May I similarly protect and wisely use
the gifts entrusted to me!
Living Stewardship
We are grateful this week for all STEWARDS in
our parish who recognize that although each of us
has our own unique gifts to share, our mission is
the same-to serve others and help build God’s
kingdom.
