SchoolMessenger Phone, Email & Text Messaging
SchoolMessenger is a web-based communication tool currently used by the San Mateo-Foster City
School District. The system enables the District and its schools to personally communicate with
parents/guardians to support emergency preparedness, school community involvement and student
attendance. The phone number, email address, or cell phone number that is used for these
communications comes from the District's student information system.
Phone Calls
Phone calls are sent to the phone number of the primary contact for your child. If you would like to
change the number that is called please contact your school.
Email Messages
Email messages are sent to the primary and secondary contact for
your student.
TEXT MESSAGING COMING SOON!
On Monday, November 16 you will receive a text
message from SchoolMessenger that says:
“SMFCSD text messages. Reply Y for aprx 3
msgs/mo. Txt HELP 4info. Msg&data rates may
apply. See http://schoolmessenger.com/txtmsg”
How do recipients opt-in to receive text messages?
1. Text the word “YES” to 68453 from each wireless device they wish to receive texts on.
2. In order to receive messages from your school(s) or the District you need to opt-in from the number
that is listed as the cell contact number in our student information system. If you need to update this
number please contact your school site. If you opt-in from a number that the school or District does
not have on file, you would not receive messages at that number.
How do recipients opt-out of receiving text messages?
Recipients not wishing to receive text messages to a particular number can simply do one of the
following:
1. Don’t opt-in, and don’t reply to the opt-in invitation message.
2. Text “STOP” to 68453 at any time.
3. Opt out online at http://schoolmessenger.com/txtmsg
Llamadas de Teléfono, Emails y Textos de SchoolMessenger
SchoolMessenger es una herramienta de comunicación basada en la internet utilizada por el Distrito Escolar
de San Mateo-Foster City. Este sistema le permite al distrito y a sus escuelas personalmente comunicarse con
los padres/tutores para apoyar con la preparación de emergencias, participación en la comunidad escolar y
asistencia estudiantil. El número de teléfono utilizado para estas comunicaciones viene del sistema de
información estudiantil del Distrito.
Llamadas Telefónicas
Las llamadas telefónicas se mandan al número principal de contacto del estudiante. Si le gustaría cambiar el
número al que se llama, por favor contacte a su escuela.
Mensajes de Email
Los mensajes de email se mandan al contacto primario y secundario de
estudiante.

MENSAJES DE TEXTO!
El lunes, 16 de noviembre usted recibirá un mensaje
de texto del SchoolMessenger que dice:
“Mensajes de texto de SMFCSD. Conteste con
una Y para aproximadamente 3 mensajes al mes.
Escribe HELP para información. Cuotas de
mensajes y datos. Vea http://schoolmessenger.com/txtmsg”
¿Cómo pueden los decidir recibir mensajes de texto?
1. Contestar con la palabra “YES” a 68453 de cada celular al que le gustaría recibir mensajes.
2. Para recibir mensajes de su escuela o del Distrito, usted debe responder del número que esta enumerado
como celular en el sistema de información estudiantil. Si necesita actualizar este número, por favor contacte a
su escuela. Si usted utiliza un número que no tiene la escuela, usted no recibirá mensajes a ese número.
¿Cómo pueden los destinatarios decidir no recibir mensajes de texto?
Los destinatarios que no deseen recibir mensajes de texto a un número en particular pueden seguir los
siguientes pasos:
1. No responda al mensaje de invitación.
2. Responda “STOP” al 68453 en cualquier momento.
3. Decida no ser parte del programa en http://schoolmessenger.com/txtmsg
