BISHOP'S ANNUAL APPEAL (BAA) UPDATE
The BAA is coming to a close on June 15, 2015. Thank
you to all who have contributed to this diocesan
campaign. When we began in October our parish goal
was $13,000. To date we have contributed $6,041.00. If
you are considering making a gift to the appeal this year
you should try to make your gift before June 15th. There
are envelopes and brochures in the vestibule of the church
for your use. The BAA allows the Bishop to provide
funding for, among other needs, religious education of
our youth, seminarian formation and the building of new
churches in our growing diocese. Thank you for your
support.

Gracias a todos los que han contribuido a esta campaña
diocesana. Cuando empezamos en octubre nuestra meta

ADULT BIBLE JOURNEY:
BIBLE TIMELINE WITH JEFF CAVINS
The Bible is one of the main sources of all that we
are and do as Catholics. Understanding it brings our
faith to life. We are going to start an 8-part series on
the Bible called “A Quick Journey Through the
Bible”. Every Thursday we will be meeting to grow
deeper in our understanding of the best-selling book
of all time. We will be using the Bible study which
utilizes a DVD presentation by Jeff Cavins and a
workbook. We will be offering the series on
Thursday evenings from 6:45 pm to 8:30 pm from
June 4, 2015 through July 23, 2015. Cost is
$20.00. Sign up by Friday, May 29th. You can sign
up at the Parish Center Office.

THE MASS SEMINAR
Do you understand the meaning behind the parts of the
Mass? In his video-based study A Biblical Walk Through the
Mass, Dr. Edward Sri explores the roots of the words and
gestures we experience at Mass and explains their profound
significance. In this study, you will come to know and
understand the Mass like never before, leading you to a
richer, more fruitful worship experience. In anticipation of
Corpus Cristi on June 7th, we will be watching the DVD
presentation from 9am to 12pm on Saturday, June 6th in the

A Diocese of Fresno Experience.” The
program has just been named a winner
in the 37th Annual Telly Awards, honoring
excellence in video and film production. It features Lupe
and other young Valley Catholics who took part, earlier
this year, in OneLife LA, a massive rally celebrating the
dignity of human life. You can view the documentary

1st Annual Fundraising Banquet
St Anthony’s Retreat and Santa Teresita Youth
Conference Center seeks to raise $25,000 in
scholarship funds to be used over the next twelve
months at both STAR and STYCC for people in
need of financial assistance, benefitting people of
all ages especially those with disabilities, seniors,
fixed incomes, or youth who’s families lack the
financial means to send them to retreat or summer
camp.
The fundraising Banquet is on Sunday May 31st
and begins with tours of both retreat facilities
throughout the afternoon, a Hosted reception begins
at 4:30 followed by dinner and a program at 5:30.
There will be a number of silent auction items on
display, and a Live Auction immediately following
dinner, as well as a “Wish List” for both retreat
centers.
Tickets are $150 each. Seating is limited. You
may also choose to sponsor one of our many other
programs by contributing directly to the Retreat
Centers.

Italian Catholic Federation (ICF) is an
organization open to all practicing Catholics.
Branch 32 at Our Lady of Victory Parish is
celebrating its 84th year. You do NOT have to be
Italian to enjoy the Italian heritage and support
your Parish as well. The ICF meets the 4th
Tuesday of each month at 6 pm in Hayes Hall.
The ICF provides support to the Church and
Parish by raising funds for the Parish School
and Scholarships, the Bishop’s Burse
(Seminarians), Catholic Charities, Hinds
Hospice and others. If you would like more

Hayes Hall.
