Esta ruta que está a punto de afrontar requiere un esfuerzo
comedido que se ve recompensado con creces por el hecho
de transcurrir en una zona cuya historia es de las más interesantes de la provincia.
Por estos caminos anduvieron tartesios, turdetanos, romanos y almohades, antes de la Reconquista. Y de los primeros podrá observar restos arqueológicos, siempre que
solicite permiso a la Diputación Provincial para visitar el
final de la ruta: Tejada la Vieja.
Partiendo desde la Aldea de Tejada por la vía pecuaria llamada “Colada del Gamonal” atravesamos el puente sobre
el arroyo de Tejada y cogemos el camino paralelo ascendiendo durante todo el trayecto. Poco a poco la cercanía de
la Sierra se va haciendo presente, con el dominio del monte
bajo y la encina.
“La Cañada Real del Arrebol” le guiará hasta los restos tartésicos de Tejada la Vieja. Desde la valla hasta las propias
ruinas deberá bajar de la bicicleta, si es que viene en ella,
e ir a pie. Ya en el yacimiento observará perfectamente el
paisaje de transición entre Condado y Sierra y el “Cerro de
la Matanza”, donde cristianos y musulmanes midieron sus
fuerzas hasta casi acabar con ellas.
This route you are about to face requires a short effort compensated by the fact of passing through an area whose
history is one of the most interesting in the province.
Tartessians, Turdetani, Romans and Almohads before the
Reconquest walked these paths. You can contemplate the
Tartessian archaeological remains, asking for permission
to the provincial council (Diputacion provincial) to visit the
end of the route: Tejada la Vieja.
Starting from the hamlet of Tejada by the livestock way
called ‘Colada del Gamonal’ we cross the bridge over the
Tejada’s stream and we take the parallel path climbing all
the time. Step by step the proximity of the Sierra (mountains) gets more and more evident with the predominance of
holm oaks and underbrush.
El Arrebol royal livestock rail will guide you to the Tartessian
remains of Tejada la Vieja. From the fence to the ruins you
will have to get off your bicycle, if you are riding one, and
go walking.
Once in the site you will perfectly see the transition landscape between County and Sierra and Cerro de la Matanza,
where Christians and Muslims pit their skills.
