Using infinitives
• When a conjugated verb is followed by an infinitive, you can place the reflexive
pronoim before the conjugated verb or attach it to the end of the infinitive.
Yo quiero acostarme temprano. Yo me quiero acostar temprano.
I want to go to bed early.,
• Use acabar de + an infinitive to indicate what has just been done. Conjugate
acabar in the present tense.
Mi mama acaba de llegar.
My mom just arrived.
• Para + an infinitive explains what you do something for. Other prepositional
phrases such as antes de and despu^s de are also followed by an infinitive.
Voy a salir temprano para llegar a tiempo al colegio.
Vm going to leave early in order to get to school on time.
