Thanksgiving Baskets
The St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) Society
will act as distributor for Thanksgiving baskets for those in need. Parish families are
asked to donate items from the following list.
The following items constitute a basket:
4 cans of vegetables: 2 corn + 2 green
beans
2 cans of fruit
1 large or 2 small cans of sweet potatoes
1 can of cranberry sauce
2 cans of chicken broth
1 package of stuffing mix
1 box of instant potatoes
1 box of biscuit mix
1 bottle of cooking oil
1 large or 2 small boxes of flavored gelatin
$10 cash or check (SVDP will include a food
certificate for a family to purchase meat or
fresh food of their choice)
If a parish family chooses to provide a
partial basket it will be combined with other
partial baskets to make a complete basket.
Baskets should be brought to Mass on the
weekend or to the SVDP office MWF, 1-4
p.m., Thur., 6:30-8:30 pm., and Sat.,911a.m. Baskets will be distributed beginning Nov. 17. Parishioners who know a family needing a basket can call SVDP at (817)
361-8420 with the name, address and phone
# of the family.

A medida que nos acercamos al final del año litúrgico,
nuestros pensamientos se dirige necesariamente a la
idea terminar, incluyendo nuestro propio final en la muerte. De hecho, en este mes de noviembre recordamos a nuestros queridos difuntos. Pero, nuestra fe es una que proclama
sin temor la vida en medio de la muerte. Ahí es donde nuestra esperanza debe estar.
El próximo fin de semana, una organización que ayuda a proclamar la vida en medio de
la aparente "muerte" (la pobreza y la enfermedad) estarán aquí en todas las misas: Cruz
Católica Internacional. Ya han estado aquí anteriormente. Como esta parroquia ha sido
tan generoso en el pasado, estoy seguro lo seremos nuevamente para el buen trabajo que
hace la Cruz Católica Internacional.
Por favor, tenga en cuenta que el Día de Acción de Gracias se acerca. Un gran agradecimiento a todos los que están ayudando con las canastas de Acción de Gracias que San Vicente de Paúl está proporcionando.

Transportation Service is essential for those seeking help when they
have no way to get to the source of help! Catholic Charities has this
service, as one of their many "help-programs", and they
have available vehicles to transport clients. They need volunteer drivers for CC vehicles and volunteers who are willing to drive their own

Book of Remembrances
November is a time when we especially remember our deceased
family and friends in prayer. Our parish’s Book of Remembrances
is placed near the Holy Family statue for you to sign. Please write
the names of your deceased loved ones on the pages provided. All
names will be remembered at Masses in November.
Father Raul Perez of Cross Catholic Outreach will be visiting our parish next weekend to speak at all Masses on
behalf of the poor in developing countries. Cross Catholic Outreach was founded to create a meaningful link
between parishes in America and the priests and nuns
working in the Church overseas in the Caribbean, Africa,
Asia, Central and South America. Please be generous .

Sacrament of Baptism (newborns - age 6): Parents requesting the Sacrament of Baptism should be either living within parish boundaries or be registered in the parish. Parents and godparents are expected to attend a baptism class for an infant to be baptized. Parents are required to bring a signed photocopy of the child’s state-registered birth certificate to the baptism class. Godparents who are not registered at St. Bartholomew must provide a letter from their parish which verifies that they meet the godparent
requirements. All paperwork must be turned into the office before scheduling your child’s baptism date. The next class will be 7 p.m.
on Thursday, January 8th in the church hall. Call the office to sign up for this class. Parents also need to call the office if you need to
use the nursery while attending this class. For more information, call Art and Cecilia Villa, 817-292-3897. The next English Baptism
ceremony will be Saturday, January 3rd, at 10 a.m. in the church for those who have attended the class.
Sacramento del Bautismo (Recién nacidos hasta 6 años): Los padres que soliciten el bautismo deben vivir dentro de los
límites de la parroquia o ser miembros registrados. Los papas y los padrinos deben asistir a una clase pre-bautismales. Por favor

Magnanimous Musings of Fr. John Robert
As we begin to come to the end of the liturgical year, our
thoughts necessarily go to the idea of endings, including
our own ending in death. Indeed in this month of November we remember our beloved
departed ones. But, ours is a faith that fearlessly proclaims life in the midst if death.
That is where our hope must be.
Next weekend, an organization that helps to proclaim life in the midst of seeming
"death" (poverty and illness) will be here at all masses: Cross Catholic International.
They have been here before. As this parish has been so generous in the past, I am sure
we will be so again to the good work that Cross Catholic does.
Please also note that Thanksgiving is coming. A big Thank you to all who are helping with
the Thanksgiving baskets that St. Vincent de Paul Society is providing.
We will have a mass on Thanksgiving Day at 9 am. There will also be the Wednesday
evening mass at 6:30 pm the night before. At both masses, you are invited to bring any
food or drink that you would like blessed for your meal as a family. God bless you all.

who wish to be confirmed. Sophomores need 2 years of YSN to be
confirmed in 2016.
Discovery Class (Grades 7&8) is this week , Wednesday, November
19th at 7p.m. in the Youth Room. Doors open at 6:30. All are welcome.
Youth RCIA ( Grades 7-12) started Sunday, October 26th,
10:30-11:30 a.m. in the Youth Room. These classes are for all
7-12 grade students who have never been baptized or need 1st
Communion. It is also for those who want to become Catholic. A
parent is required to attend the class also.
