Dear Assumption - Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish
Families,
can imagine. Let us come to the fest!
Jesus tells us in this weekend’s gospel, that
many are invited to God’s banquet, “but few are chosen.”
The twist of this gospel is that God invites all – the offer of
salvation is extended to everyone. The choosing is not what
God does from those that he’s invited; the choosing is what
we do in our response to God. Our response is a clear
choice to do all we need to do in our daily living to witness to
the presence of the kingdom of God.
Save the Dates:
We respond each day in many ways to God’s invitation to
come to the banquet. When we listen attentively to another
and in our listening strengthen and encourage that person,
we are choosing to come to God’s banquet. When we help
clothe the poor, feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, we
are choosing to come to God’s banquet. When we take time
in prayer to listen for the invitation of our divine King, we are
preparing ourselves to choose faithfully to come to the banquet. The
ways in which we respond to multiple situations and people
in our ordinary lives all mark how we choose to respond to
the invitation God gives each of us to come to the divine
feast where rich food and choice wines are more than we

Estimadas familias de la parroquia de Asunción-Guadalupe:
Jesús nos dice en el evangelio de este fin de
semana, que muchos son los invitados al banquete de Dios,
"pero pocos los elegidos." El giro de este evangelio es que
Dios invita a todos – El ofrecimiento de salvación se extiende a todo el mundo. La elección no es lo que Dios hace de
los que ha invitado; la elección es lo que nosotros hacemos
en nuestra respuesta a Dios. Nuestra respuesta es una elección clara para hacer todo lo que tenemos que hacer en
nuestra vida diaria para dar testimonio de la presencia del
reino de Dios.
Nosotros respondemos cada día en muchas maneras a la
invitación de Dios para venir al banquete. Cuando escuchamos atentamente al otro y en nuestro escuchar fortalecemos
y animamos a esa persona, estamos eligiendo venir al banquete de Dios. Cuando ayudamos a vestir a los pobres, alimentar al hambriento, a dar refugio a las personas sin hogar,
estamos eligiendo venir al banquete de Dios. Cuando nos
tomamos el tiempo en oración para escuchar la invitación de
nuestro divino Rey, nos estamos preparando para elegir fielmente venir al banquete. Las maneras en que respondemos
a múltiples situaciones y personas en nuestras vidas ordinarias, todas marcan cómo elegimos responder a la invitación
que Dios da a cada uno de nosotros para venir al festín divino donde alimentos ricos y vinos selectos son más de lo
que podemos imaginar. ¡Vengamos al festín!

Consejos para una Oración del Rosario Exitosa en Familia:
· Personalícelo: Cada miembro de la familia debe tener su propia Rosario. Los niños pueden jugar con él. Eso está bien. Esto les ayuda a familiarizarse con un
Rosario. Con el tiempo van a aprender y crecer en reverencia y respeto de su rosario.
· Crear un hábito: Establezca un tiempo que sea cómodo para su familia y que funcione sin ser estresante.
· Crear un espacio: Prepare el tono para la oración, para que los niños pequeños entiendan que esto es diferente a otras actividades familiares. Si es posible, en
cienda una vela y juegue un poco, de fondo puede poner música instrumental suave.
· Comience con algo pequeño: Sea paciente. No trate de acabar todo un rosario la primera vez. Comience con una década y vaya aumentando con el tiempo.
· Que sea sencillo: El Rosario es una gran manera para que los niños pequeños aprendan el Ave María, Padre Nuestro y el Credo de los Apóstoles y para aprender
acerca de la vida de Jesús y su madre María.

the year. Prior to a baptism, the Archdiocese of Omaha
requires that parents and godparents take a pre-baptismal
class.

IGNITE THE FAITH CAPITOL CAMPAIGN/ LA CAMPAÑA ENCIENDE LA FE
How will the Ignite the Faith
Campaign benefit parish ministries?
The Ignite the Faith Capital Campaign will designate
$200,000 to offer advanced training to catechists and
parish ministers. This investment will help the archdiocese take
advantage of the latest technologies to make faith
formation and training available to all parish ministers
throughout the archdiocese.
The Archdiocese of Omaha has partnered with My
Catholic Faith Delivered to offer this training to religious
education directors, youth ministry directors, catechists
and others who are interested in learning more about
our faith. The training is done online and involves video
presentations, online assessments, discussion boards
and links to additional resources.
To date, our parish has raised $2,100.00 toward our
goal of $470,730.00.
Please continue your prayers and pledges to assist us
in this important work of training our catechist leaders
who contribute so much time, energy and faith to our
Catholic community.

Fe a los ministerios parroquiales?
La campaña de Enciende la Fe designará $200,000 para

“Facing Loss with Peace and Prayer – a fourteen week journey.”
This support group is open to anyone who has lost a loved one.
It focuses on helping participants accept their loss, express their grief,
move through the bereavement process and put their lives back together
through peace and prayer. We will meet in the building next to the portables.
Exact dates and times soon to be determined. Discussions will last for one hour.

The "Kolace Gang" needs your help making Kolace for our Alter Society (Parish) Bake Sale/Fall Dinner on November 2,
2014. Join us in the Assumption-Guadalupe School Cafeteria on Saturday November 1, 8:00-8:30 am ending around 2:00
pm with lunch. "Strong workers" needed for heavy lifting and clean-up. Monetary donations for supplies are needed. Drop off
donations at the parish office or put cash donations in an envelope (marked with your name and note for 'kolaces') and drop
